  1. That’s a bit unusual
  2. Are the pups the same size (exactly)?
  3. Good call
  4. Hard metal, not cheese metal or death metal
  5. Those look like the ones I got (packaging v similar) . They were usable
  6. Nothing wrong with that
  7. Suggest you look up Kate Davis and also Post Modern jukebox - in one vid they have two guys playing a double handed bass solo on just one bass. It’s the one with three girls singing in glam dresses
  8. It’s not called “the dusty end” for nothing....
  9. A Japanese 62ri jazz that I bought from the late oldgit. Also a natural 75 ri jap jazz scored for just 300£ on eBay because stupid scheduled it to finish at 2am
  10. Yes get metal ones - best for playing metal
  11. That’s glossary 1.0, ready made, right there. Good work mister
  12. It worked out for Sting ...maybe it’s okay because he is already in the police ?
  13. I wouldn’t sell. I’d get it fixed when you can
  14. It would be helpful for any newbie if you could explain at least the outline of what they’re about ? Kind of like “showing him/her where the toilets are”? figuring out some of “the darker magic” of basschat could take quite a bit of thread archeology. I’ve been here ten years and I still don’t know the reference behind “a waste of TIM”. @ped could we consider adding a glossary? We are getting to a point of jargon-load where there are too many references to obscure things that no newbie can expect to unpick and so integrate ?
  15. Take A look at this @julietgreen She’s not tall and managing fine
  16. @Harryb0201 you should be aware that “is that bass any good for playing metal?” Is something of an in-joke around these parts
  17. Famous place, squire...
  18. Is this a banjo forum ? Or bow-hunting ?
  19. Many many moons ago I bought the white guitar version ... I got better .. with therapy
  20. But with books you can work at your own pace without constantly reaching for the Pause button
  21. He does books on every conceivable subject bass-wise and he gives really good examples. He was apparently a guitard once but chose instead the righteous path of bass
  22. Can I recommend Ed Friedland books to you @Harryb0201 he does lots of YouTube also. See also @Stuart Clayton for explaining extended scale patterns I also commend “bass guitar for dummies”, in the local library probably, as the author deconstructs the process of choosing notes for a bass line over given chords in a painless and informative manner. Lightbulb moment for me as he did it in just the right way.
  23. Au contraire, he seems quite happy to be talking about “old crap”
  24. Just teasing You - people on here are constantly reminiscing about the Encore jazz bass copy they painted purple and their first Westone ...
