1.
They could have saved 75 pages by getting rid of all of the tab
True but then it would have been dense and impenetrable
2. Ditto Did you read the amazon review ? Some muppet complains that there is insufficient biography and too much transcription
3. No, like an app that lets you choose beats and tests you, gives feedback etc
4. Can anyone suggest a good one? Thanks
5.
Listening to Woodface right now. It's so good. What did he play? Was it a Spector?
Ive mostly seen him with a Fender - sometimes they play Sherwood Pines in Nottinghamshire. He is totally underrated. Very tasteful.
6. interested to see how you do the checking and body relic. What did you do the the tuners, or did they come like that ?
7. You can't Trying putting "reduced" in the title to get people's attention and state in the main post what the new price is
8. Yes that's what I meant There are better designs than the BBOT but it's iconic so they don't fix it but I don't see why an unseen but not uncommon fault can't be fixed
9. ive got a nice dark one in celluloid available
10. Thanks Mr east himself has been in touch to advise, maybe I'll start a new trend
11. yes, I used a metal fret mask to stop the chemicals getting into the wood. You can also use masking tape.
12. thank you, I have since read that piezos are quite low output so that may be the answer. I want it to be a bit stealth. http://www.east-uk.com/index.php/bass/piezo-magnetic-mixer/mpm-01.html
13. i used brasso on my warwick's frets (they'd not been touched in the last ten years according to the previous owner) and they came up beautifully in moments.
14. not quite - weak or failure prone pickups can be fixed invisibly, and should have been. The bridge issues form part of the arguably iconic cosmetic design and so is harder to change without protests
15. A generically weak front pickup should have been fixed a long time ago ( it's not like it's a cosmetic change) on an instrument as premium priced as this
16. Can someone advise me what hardware I need to do a concentric "outer" blend (centre notch) and "inner" tone ? I think I can do the wiring it's the hardware choices I'm uncertain about To fit a Jazz bass with single coils and two volume controls The blend is for a piezo to be used or blended in to whatever the two volumes select Thanks
17. Hardy Smith ? no- just inside the borders of [s]Mordor[/s] Mansfeld - near the Sir John Cockle - he normally works on acoustics but he made a lovely job of my Stingray - Anthony Dixon
18. Reason I ask is that I was toying with building a jazz bass with a piezo bridge and putting a concentric blend pot on the tone position (so tone as normal but also piezo balance)
19. Can you say what the piezo sounds like compared to a regular pickup? I'm curious
