  1. The things you screw the screws through ?
  2. No, the lugs start at the bottom inserting it upside down tells me the cavity is the right size ? if the lugs are wrong it doesn’t fit at all when right way up
  3. Could some with a recent “standard” jazz (ie not 90s squier or early mex) please measure the distance from the corner of the bridge pickup to the center of the lug? i have an awkward eBay seller who seems to think that just because “the cavity is the right size that’s all that matters then” my geddy lee pups fit upside down in the bridge but the lugs are in the right place for a neck pup
  4. Ok I did that and if you look at the last picture (bridge pup cover upside down) you will see that the cover fits but the lugs are correctly placed for the neck pup (see middle picture) I’ve updated the seller and await his response
  5. They are out of a geddy lee so I assume they are indeed standard ill measure at lunchtime to see 92ml and 94 ml long same width
  6. It’s a steer that I got from @Norris
  7. maybe Lindsey has had enough of it after 40 years and wants to enjoy the rest of his life. I'd get tired of being a jukebox
  8. not for me, sadly- I have an allparts bridge I've been thinking about it and I can't live with the bodge, The bridge pickup is about three mm longer, with differently placed lugs, to allow for the wider string gap at the bridge. Early mex jazz basses used a bridge pickup in both locations and its totally obvious that the neck pickup poles don't align with the strings,. Having tried the bridge cover, the cavity is too small but I think a decent woodworker could widen and length it slightly. It wont look perfect, but better than a mis aligned neck pickup. regarding the seller, he DOES state the size. However he doesn't state that this is neck pup sized and as a seller myself, I'd be adding a caution note to the listing to avoid unhappy customers. He did offer to sell me two neck pups ....hmm
  9. If your string touch something live then there is no route to earth that does not include you
  10. Just put a stripe from under the bridge to the pup cavity
  11. Maybe an ironstone pair however the pole pieces won’t align at the bridge with the strings I’ll try the pup in the hole - maybe I just need to chisel out the lugs a bit
  12. He does state it but I don’t yet know what it actually measures I’ll check - yes same guy
  13. Also @discreet Noted but I have standard jazz bass pickups and I bought an apparently standard jazz bass body - I would struggle to find a commercially available pickup set, wouldn’t I ? As would all other buyers of that body
  14. so DISASTER strikes i took out my geddy lee pickups to check the pole pieces align with my string "strings" and the placed bridge. The rear pickup cavity has been routed for the smaller front pickup. Surely everyone knows that the rear pickup is larger on a jazz bass ? (excepting very early mex basses where the front is the same larger size as the rear, but even that doesn't fit this case) Raised a dispute/return request with the ebay seller. I'm a bit annoyed at ths.
  15. My old stamping ground - welcome
  16. and which is probably made in the same factory ....
  17. I keep the bridge cover on The pickup cover gets in the way and didnt last there , but I do like the look I don’t mind seeing the holes even because it fits with my Relic fetish
  18. Maybe he is in a coma and thus unable to annoy
