My 2c is that it makes little to no difference which wood. I think how it’s constructed and how well seasoned the wood is that makes more difference

I had one of those tanglewiods as a 12 string, totally adequate though I recall the action being a bit high. So I put a compensated bridge that was sanded down slightly and all was well

Yes, try one knitted by pixies from purest spider web, with buckles and fittings made from fairy-silver. Or one with a fender badge on it, which is much the same thing

I was thinking of how to match the convenience of a flip lid and mag strips match it. screws not so much. @JellyKnees can you show us the inside ?

You could use mag strips to hold a 3D printed in place then no hinges and no screws
