    @shambo Yep agree he built my bass and it’s so totally fabulous I’ve never changed it. He was fast and fair throughout so I am sorry to hear others being treated differently

    Basically at 10, the tone pot drops out of circuit and you get a full on pup tone. There’s a slight bump you can feel as you hit 10 cheap to try

    Good advice - I used string and was about 3mm out and it’s really annoying. Just use some old bass strings

    I found car nitro on ebay in big 500ml cans lots in the can, went on well and seemed to melt into lower coats. Beware what colour undercoat you use. I needed grey to get off white

    This is a moment - I for the first time have achieved genuine mojo. I had a free lunchtime so had a quick noodle through my zoom and noticed what I thought were visible grain undulations in my otherwise poor nitro paint job In fact they were genuine lacquer crazing, lots of it.😎 Now I rub in some shoe polish ...
