  9. She is urging me to buy something nice as the land to be sold is in a place where bad things happened. Replacement therapy… It’s taken two plus years to convince idiot co-trustee to sell and I’ve been running the trust for 11 years prior to that. That means I’ve been immersed in it daily, and once sold I never need to go back there or even think about it

  12. I have arthritis coming in my left hand and can no longer cope with full scale I’m being encouraged by my lovely partner to buy something for myself with some incoming money that adds up to inheritance but long delayed I’ve fought long and hard to push my idiot, pathetic and pathologically risk averse cousin to sell something that we co-own and today her hand was finally forced from indulging in endless procrastination and long-grass kicking can anyone advise me about 32” scale basses-are they just Japanese made ?
  13. He did mention that he owned a guitar 🤢 otherwise he’s fine anyway @Robbo I’m still at the awful stage
  14. You could reduce it a bit, make a mark and count the turns I’ve never bothered myself
  15. Not sure I could build that but maybe could find a cheap one on AliExpress

  17. Could you take a picture of the thing in bold? I can google the last one
  18. I no longer have an amp. It was in the way and too big. I have a zoom b2.1 that will drive headphones. Can anyone tell me if I can run a small speaker cabinet, or a battery amp for the rare occasions when I need amplification ? thanks
  19. I went by your profile. Piece of advice, start with a jam session (see below) and just observe first time. I talked to the drummer at my local one and he gave me their basic set list to pick from. Take your bass and commonly people will strike up conversation. Be honest about your abilities and they’ll support you I’d avoid open mic nights to start with as a) bass is not generally a solo instrument and the guitarists who run them don’t get that and b) you need to spend time at each to find someone who wants to collaborate with a bass player. Since they are usually acoustic types, turning up with an electric instrument generally indicates a lynching is imminent. I got very lucky with a young lady who organises my local OM as all sorts come to her nights and she’s good at matching people up and supporting them but that’s not normal
