Don't let the shop know if you can still avoid doing so. As said already see if you can secure the gear with a deposit. Even if you never get that back it's worth it for a beloved guitar. The Police may take some time.
Totally disagree from a legal point of view, once you've told them they will be handling stolen goods if they sell
Cheers guys. I am gonna go there tomorrow and take it from there. Sure it won't be the first time this has happened.
No they should hold it as soon as you advise, as it isn't theirs to sell once they know Give it to them in the form of a letter

Even if it dies you can always remove the hard drive assuming that the hard drive is not faulty You can get a cable very cheaply that will allow you to read the hard disk on another laptop or PC, once its been removed. if the screen is faulty, you can still recover your data using a borrowed monitor. If its a keyboard issue, use a plugin keyboard, It is a mistake to see a laptop as just one unit

I thought it was totally awesome Yes I can hear U2 but more in the bassljne, actually, in the sense of being driving and supportive. The guitar parts didn't really remind me of U2 more perhaps Coldplay, Athlete etc I'd turn it up, so thumbs up from me
As is the seller who initiated this... does it mean he gets to pay court costs when he doesn't turn up?
If the other party doesn't turn up and doesn't have a very good reason; you win by default

Isn't the black overspray on the rear upper forearm contour supposed to be to disguise the plywood ? Looks ok to me though

Gauging string gauges and other acoustic bass problems...
Geek99 replied to Powertripper's topic in Bass Guitars
i use the Fender bronze strings in just that gauge and they are fine. Regarding your action, you have to file down the saddle's base to lower the action and its a total pain. You may wish to consider one of these adjustable guitar saddles to get the action right, then you can measure its height and apply that to your own solid saddle. If the adjustable saddle is too wide, you could move the screws, or chop it into two, shorten the parts and glue together. Worth checking neck relief first though.
Hi all, I recently bought a bass on ebay for £150 that had some unadvertised issues. I contacted the seller & he disagreed with all of the the things I said...long story short ebay found in my favour after it was dragged out to it's conclusion. The seller was given time to organise the return & did not contact me,ebay then refunded me without the bass being returned the seller then got in touch to have the bass returned. After such a protracted transaction I told him I would keep it safe & ready for HIM to organise the collection of it as I would be making no further effort, I have not heard from him since, it has been two weeks. Am I able to fix & keep this bass or dispose of as I see fit or do I just wait until he arranges collection?
You have to wait, and wait for up to six years as stated. Its still his property as you got your money back and so have suffered no real loss other than legally intangible disappointment, You could ask him if he wants it stored (at his expense) at a storage facility if you don't have houseroom, or can't keep it safe for some reason such as living in a house of multiple occupancy. You would probably have to compensate him if it was stolen in a burglary, or destroyed in a fire. You could perhaps ask for a reasonable sum for storage until he collects, to give him an incentive. As stated above, you cant threaten to dump it on the street as it simply isn't yours to dispose of.
Not my normal listening material, but I couldn't resist. It doesn't seem particularly difficult. Is there a section you are stuck on?
With all due respect , perhaps the OP isn't at that level yet? I know I'm not even though I'm trying to get better
