2.
More importantly, how did it go with the redhead?
It didn't and wasn't intended to, my partner and female kids might object Just nice to get positive comments about tone (that you all get) when hearing my p bass really loud for first time (they heard it, I couldn't as in my naïveté I was right under the pa speaker)
 3. Yes - great bass player but it's all a bit twee for my liking
 4.
It's called Silly Love Songs and was written in response to others complaining he only wrote silly love songs. So, the irony was McCartney's own.
Ok fair enough - I didn't think he did irony but clearly I'm mistaken
 5. heard the song containing words "some people want to fill the world with silly love songs"** (ironic, given that he is a major culprit) and was very impressed by the bassline ** i have no idea what its actually called
 6. What a steal - but I have a precision already
 7.
Didn't Jamerson have difficulty finding work later on as producers felt his sound hadn't moved with the times? With hindsight his work comes across as classic rather than dated, but I guess there was a time when it didn't seem that way to everyone.
That's what the book says
 8.
Transvision Vamp...did'Baby I Dont Care 3 times...utterly dreadful but that blonde was hot as hell!
Wendy...

 10.
For me.... I'm even questioning if any part of it is Fender? Again, what would I know.
Id say it was a bitsa with a reliced neck
 11. looks a bit heavily smoked to me, in the headstock pic that you post - on ebay the pickguard does not look original
 12. oh they were fine - apart from that droning song about George Bush I just meant that I thought it would be mobbed and it wasnt. Zutons were surprisingly bad.
 13.
Yeah that's the one!
Spooky ! Surprised how poorly attended it was- we were on the pitch
 14.
The Zutons, they were supporting REM who were absolutely brilliant
I think I was at a gig in that tour Notts forest ground
 15.
Do you mean Daisy Duke?
Catherine Bach? She was daisy duke Barbara bach was in a roger Moore bond film
 16. I'm assuming he doesn't need the money I always had serious hits for Barbara bach
 17. We are quick to complain - we should also go out of our way to praise
 18. No I dont think so. Its actually for keeping in the car for when I get practice time at work during lunchtime. P bass a bit of a handful in a 207 - so need to be quite small. Toying with the idea of the cheap build your own hohner style headless kits. Maybe I'm make it sunburst and relic for a joke
 19.
I won't laugh at your expense; everyone has to start somewhere. Congrats on getting up in front of people!
yep know the feeling and right now as well- first time I tried it (in front of local church audience, most of whom work at my daughter's school, and I totally train-wrecked. I missed two nights due to commitments and barely played for three months. Last friday I was able to go. The host pointed to the house guitarist (as he himself had his hands full) and the HG suggested Johnny B Goode which I'd only heard a few times on the radio. After a quick run through in the hallway we went on and I honestly think none of then had knowingly heard a bass before - it had just been fairly a bit folky and acoustic, apart from a redhead doing a jazz flavoured version of "I will survive" which was quite enjoyable. I played a few notes of "all along the watchtower" to get host get my level through the PA and it was probably a bit loud as everyone looked around in shock. Apart from a brief memory loss moment ( I stopped, thought, counted, jumped back in on the 1), it went really well and the crowd went wild. Several people complimented me on tone and "that lovely old jazz bass" (its a battered sunburst & tort precision into a zoom B2 on just Ampeg SVT setting). Partner said "would you do it again?" "hell, yeah" I said. my advice - buy a cheap acoustic bass then you can rough ideas with people in a quiet corner; taking an electric doesnt work unless your amp is very portable and there is an AC outlet in that corner minor embarrasment point - i was wearing a belt, the tongue was sticking out from the buckle as they often do when you forget to tuck it into a belt loop. Redhead took a picture which looked exactly like I'd forgotten to zip up ...
 20. Thinking about getting a travel bass - possibly sinsinido or hohner Any advice from owners or those who've tried this ? Thanks
