1. I recall someone ordered a bass that looked vaguely like a fodera Has anyone ordered the more mainstream fender clones? Some of the photos look a bit too much like the real thing to "be real" so what do you actually get ? How close is it ? They have a nice looking sunburst and blocks jazz that's got my attention but I don't want something that looks like it came out a Christmas cracker - I understand it won't be up to the standards of the Custom Shop either Your stories ? Thanks

 6.
Over a months wait for a shaver adaptor, my god why not just send it back and shop elsewhere if you aren't going to spend less than £2 to get you up and running?
You can get two for a pound at the pound shop
 7.
If I'm reading the original post correctly the kettle lead was the replacement they sent, the original 12v power supply is a European one which, as a couple of people have said, you can buy an adaptor for for a few quid.
That's also the way I read the thread up till now

 9.
What?? No! 70s Fenders are all about black pickguards.
Didn't rosewood sunburst models have blood red tort?
 10. Nice tasteful wear on the first one Do you wear the pixie boots often ?
 11. i know this feeling - been diagnosed with finger arthritis - preserve what you have, is my advice
 12.
I don't play bass at all anymore, I only play guitar. I'm a pretty terrible guitarist but I find that I get far more enjoyment out of playing guitar badly than I ever did out of playing bass well.
Get out ! out out !
 13.
I used to play guitar until I saw the 'light' but still keep hankering after 6 stringers and think how lovely they look and I really should buy one again. But then I remember I was crap at playing guitar and no amount of time, practice or lessons made any difference, so I stick with bass and remain happy.
Thank you
 14. about buying a six string electric. In the bad old days I used to have one and I always wanted to be good at it but found I much preferred bass. I keeping looking at six string multi fx and battered Strats that come up on here occasionally that mercifully someone else buys first (there was a cheap MIK one a while back that I was very close to pulling the trigger on). I don't want to turn to the Dark Side Anyone else wobbled from the righteous path like this ?
 15. I'd be worried - looks like a bitsa to me
 16.
Thanks for the responses guys. All good information. I will take the advice of trying and oiling it up first and see if this helps. If not, I will take it back to the store. This is when I'm happy I don't buy over the interweb. I hear you on the lineless, bassman7755, that's in the future budget.
It's ebanol,so oil won't help. Take it back to the shop
