1. Thanks - showed her a d chord and very basic explanation of a chord using my 12 to show the chord
2. Independent school so no council policy to follow
3. I'm hoping it will settle with tuning I don't want to spend a fortune as it's likely a flash in the pan - if she sticks at it we will get her something better
4. Went to pmt in brum and bought a linden 3/4 classical as it had a fairly narrow board, sadly they only had blue Won't stay in tune - new strings needed perhaps
5. I really liked the classic 50s neck and pup
6. I do have one tip - pay attention to your timing when using two. I found I drop into swing when starting with index, but I'm solid if I start with middle.
7.
Before buying a Alesis SR16 I used to use Wikiloops - free and you get to choose which instruments play on the track. User friendly too.
Not the easiest to program in my humble opinion
8. Rats, I just sold one of these
9. Intending to go to pmt Nottingham when it opens but thanks for the other insights

Nice ! Like the tort
11. When my ex-teenager was an eleven year old, he and his chum confidently asserted that beat matching as a dj was "harder than playing a guitar well" They talk utter rubbish (most of the time) I wouldn't worry too much. Some will find the righteous path of bass
12. Sure - she's not a sticker at tricky things so what "really works well" is more important than cosmetics
13.
Is this still available?
Yes inderd
14.
My suggestion would be to get a folk-style guitar - these are full scale but with a smaller body. Fender do a basic one at around the £100 mark : http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/fender-cf-60-folk-acoustic-guitar-natural Andy
That's an interesting thought, thanks It's got to be easy to play
15. £350 is more than 350$ blue, for now at least
16. I've got wood....
17. It's lessons at school so uke not a choice Thanks @dood I will take a trip to pmt Nottingham when it finally opens
18. No, I'm not attempting to trade in my kids for a nice jazz bass Can anyone who has had a seven year old (medium size) take up guitar at school advise whether it should be nylon, steel or other , and what size body I should look for ? Thanks
19.
"Does no one want to make Prog Music?" (Loud shouts from all directions...) NO, NO-ONE..!
Sorry, no Not me either
20. Very good price
21. +1 mates rates are for people you really know, in person, and who can look it over and decide, in the flesh.
22.
Some folk simply can't be helped. Have a nice life.
I don't think he was actually meaning to be rude
23. I'd seek advice, even if only for the luthier or helpful BC member to reassure you that you're on the right track. I've never needed to change string gauge and I once bought a jazz that would take a 747 under the strings from the bass player in Morcheeba. I got that colossal bow out by very slowly adding tension over many, many days. its made of wood and you need to take it slowly.By the time that careful process was over, it was happily wearing 45-110 rounds with a low action.
24.
I actually like them! A bit rough but sound great. It's my go-to string for new (to me) basses that I am not sure I'll keep, as they're pretty cheap.
Yes, good sound and lasted well. Disappointed they weren't red though
