1. How much more black could it be ?
2.
We played in the Black Sheep Brewery tent for the three days of the Great Yorkshire Show the year before last. Complete carnage as you'd expect. At one point a paralytic Irish woman staggered up to the stage, looked straight at me and said "Jeez, but you've got nice tits. Can I have a feel?"
Should have said it back to her
3. Ask for a referral to s specialist hand unit - do your homework and find one first - sone doctors don't know they are thee I was lucky there was one in Derby
4.
I have had problems in both wrists. Cortisone injections in both, it worked in the left but not the right, so I elected to have the surgery on the right and have not looked back since. Sorted it 100%. If the problem returns in the left I will not hesitate to get it hacked about. Yes it's several weeks of inaction but frankly that's a small price to pay. YMMV, of course.
The injection in the right probably wasn't in quite the right spot
5.
It's quite hard to get used to but I sleep on my side with my arms straight kind of like a seal for want of a better description (as I found having my arms bent for long periods can aggrevate it). I still move during the night and get the numbness but I just stick my arm out of the bed pointing to the floor and make fists and it soon eases off. I came across these exercises and they seem to help when it starts to bother me. Plus I can do them when at work sat at my desk. I drink a lot of water, use low sodium salt and take multivitamins + iron and a cod liver oil capsule daily I badly want to avoid the surgery as it's 6 weeks where you can't do anything with that particular hand and from what I've heard from others and read, it's no guarantee that it won't come back.
Nope, mine was gone within a week
6. Do what I did and fit a fender "no-load" tone pot- the pot gets bypassed at 10, and is active below 10. There is a very slight bump as it comes out of circuit
7.
On most Precisions, the first thing to go when you start to roll off the volume is a bit of top end. So yes, you can alter the tone with just the volume knob.
indeed, I find the tone knob useful, the volume knob less so other than an as a mute for unplugging or somesuch
8. i tried tying them, but only where I have stupidly cut them too short at the headstock (and arguably, where it matters less) - it worked well enough
9. Pull silly faces at the guitard to try and put him off?
10. I went to Ivor mairants and they had no basses at all; chap said people just don't ask for them
11. I don't have many or need many and they cost less than the Swarovski collection did and does, so I'm keeping that one fact ready should I ever need it Right now I have a precision, a stingray copy and an acoustic bass so it's pretty much all bases covered
12. What kind ? Should be written on underside
13. look, I know I'm not a huge rickernbacker fan as such, even though I dont actually mind them as such; but they lok exactly like all teh other rickenbackers I've seen. They even less different than a new crop of fenders are Bit disappointed really
14. Ive had one of these and it was awesome. Changed my mind about precisions
15.
Hi everyone, sorry I havent been checking in. I will try to remedy that. I love to shoot off my mouse. About Elvis playing bass, he was like so many other people, he loved the bass but just to fool around on. Most of the shots of him with a bass are pr shots. I worked a lot with Costello but never saw him pick up a bass. I think Costello is a better all round musician that Presley so he probably plays so so bass. Costello is a songwriting genius in my opinion, but when i came to singing and presentaion, Presley was right up there. I'm going to go look around some more here. I spend a lot of time on my facebook page. Quite a few bass players from around the world there. Stop by.
Jerry, i very much enjoyed your book that i collected from bluejay in london
16. This was bass tab for U2 Spanish Eyes, which I found a few small errors in. I will correct, crate a new version with acknowledgments and then try and upload. If you need to upload a few of your own then I wont be able to as I just dont have time to sit and transcribe, despite its undoubted value
17. Like the two journey man basses, light wear on front and heavy relic on back . Can't justify or afford sadly bug am going to US so maybe they'll be cheaper there
18. i have had a chance to review these now and I've donated in honour of pajc72's hard work. BTW i really like the rhythmic notation at the top as this enormously helps a relatively low-skilled player like me, It would be good if more people copied your example. Does anyone know the etiquette of taking someone else's tab and correcting it, then uploading ? I downloaded one that gave me a starter for ten (which I appreciated), then I found some errors that I'd like to correct and upload to same site.
