3.
Zoom b3. You get an effects box, drum machine and usb interface with cuebase all in one.
I have the b2.1 but never got it to work properly on windows 7 64. I now have a windows 8 laptop so maybe I should try again
4. What can people recommend ? I assume some do midi and some don't ? Not looking to spend huge amounts What are peoples experiences with windows 32/64 bit drivers ? A common whinge on the Amazon reviews Thanks

6. Not if the cost of upgrading sub par components, or of sub par materials, makes it better economics to buy a better respected bass

12.
This doesn't apply to just school children - people of pretty much all ages are like that these days.
I agree, my little one was sent flying by a careless, thoughtless pensioner yesterday There are plenty of thoughtful caring young folks about.
13. I tried it for this very song. 1) see if someone published drum tab for it. (yes, there is such a thing) 2) if not, listen for the bass drum, then approximate where it falls in relation to the beat,. 3) add the snare and hi-hat in same way regarding bpm, a lot of tabs will give a general idea but wyhen you can count the beats, do so for ten seconds, then multiply by six.
14. i found this - this sound about right ? http://www.talkbass.com/threads/acoustic-bass-guitar-setup-specifications.1016490/
15. thanks - those numbers are for an electric ? I read above that acoustics are set higher but since mine has action you can park a bus under, I was wondering whats normal.
16. anyone care to give me a sample value ?
17. if the string is a wider bore, surely the nut will need to be both wider and deeper ? Or it will sit relatively higher to the old smaller bore string. Sandpaper definitely wont do depth, not with any degree of reliability anyways
18. I'd do it now - no one has any money after Xmas. Its not overpriced and they are really good quality. I only moved my five string Peavey on as it broke the three-bass rule in my house. Yours is the four string version exactly (in hardware terms) so for anyone interested I can heartily endorse how good these basses are. Nice range of sounds, 18v preamp, logical controls, quality hardware and a slim neck with great fretwork.
19. Have you tried gumtree ? Just shifted my ac BXP fiver on gumtree for fair money
20. I'd say you have an outstandingly generous wife-to-be
21.
It's definitely a philosophical outlook. I personally don't see the difference between someone slowly relicing a bass over 45 years through use and Mark compacting that same process of use into a shorter time period. I'm still buying a bass that someone else has reliced either way! It just happens that apparently, some people think that their opinion somehow allows them to tell us which kind of 'someone else's relicing' is the acceptable and which one isn't... Well it's my money and I'll do what I want with it :-)
yes, exactly what I think.
