  1. why would you bother? Squier VMJs are perfectly respectable and hold their value well. They punch well above their weight in my humble opinion. Actual fenders have faces that discolour more quickly that the side or rears as they used to use a different varnish to cover the decal so it really doesn't matter what you use and it may even end up looking cool, as a poster above noted.
