1. I have trouble with this as I play infrequently and have little practice time Listen to it until you're sick of it then split it into sections so it doesn't seem such a huge task is my advice
2.
The MIM 70s one mentioned at £540 is a great price, plus they`re a nice bass. Real substantial feel to them.
Yes I'd buy that one
3. Yes a sad loss musically , I used to think she was hot too
4. Put them in the metal bin at your local tip ? It's what i do
5. Suggest "ain't no stopping us now" as recognisable to the average joe
6. Is that a big enough subject to fill a book ?
7. Having given a good show at the church OM night with a scratch duo playing a song I've heard twice - I'm intending to go back and smash it again with huge slabs of Precision bass goodness

Zoom B3

i've got a zoom b2.1u which is amazing. Cheap as chips on ebay
9. I got a nice b2a hohner with drop d courtesy (thanks @vmaxblues for the expedited shipping) Chose this myself as did I the small belt clip amp - has sad card, MP3 input and a small speaker for corridor practice on open mic nights
10. Nice Always wanted one but can't justify another bass
11. Damn - now I'll have to wipe my screen. Very nice
12. Depend on their age
13. I stored a tokai Strat in mine for years in a bin bag and it was absolutely fine
14. Thanks @blue (you're up late, mister)
15.
More importantly, how did it go with the redhead?
It didn't and wasn't intended to, my partner and female kids might object Just nice to get positive comments about tone (that you all get) when hearing my p bass really loud for first time (they heard it, I couldn't as in my naïveté I was right under the pa speaker)
16. Totally mental price
17. Sadly I already have a nice precision or I'd take this off you
18. Yes - great bass player but it's all a bit twee for my liking
19.
It's called Silly Love Songs and was written in response to others complaining he only wrote silly love songs. So, the irony was McCartney's own.
Ok fair enough - I didn't think he did irony but clearly I'm mistaken
20. heard the song containing words "some people want to fill the world with silly love songs"** (ironic, given that he is a major culprit) and was very impressed by the bassline ** i have no idea what its actually called
21. What a steal - but I have a precision already
22. body too large, but thanks anyway
23.
Didn't Jamerson have difficulty finding work later on as producers felt his sound hadn't moved with the times? With hindsight his work comes across as classic rather than dated, but I guess there was a time when it didn't seem that way to everyone.
That's what the book says
