1.
Nothing more than £400 bass wise, I've got 2 COG pedals I didn't strictly need but I get a nice gooey feeling inside supporting a local gear maker and of course the pedals themselves are excellent.
Yep I'm with you. £450 to the bass doc for an awesome 3tsb precision with subtle aging on the neck
2.
Possible in theory but I cant imagine any circumstances under which this would be a good idea in practical/cost terms.
Quite Why not just buy a shortie?
3. Cover it in a fold of decent cardboard and some brown paper and you can ship for 2.85 as a small parcel. Padded envelopes aren't up to it
4.
Here is the bass in question, it has a jazz neck which I believe just a few of them had around this period, it is quite chunky but feels great, especially for me as I prefer the jazz width, but love the P tone.
I'd keep it like that, I'm getting excited just looking at it
5.
I forgot to mention, the bit of paper that comes with it - either no-one else has noticed that it says "USER MANAUL" or I have a rare version.
Mine too
6. Would you repaint a Victorian dining table ? It's not like Victorian varnish was awful but it would be a bit of a shame
7.
What Owen said. Personally, I like a genuine worn bass, so buckle rash, worn off paint and battle scars wouldn't bother me at all.
What he said .... I mean "word"
8. What width? 😊
9. Mine said that but turned up next day
10. Yes I fixed one up off eBay - it was totally awesome
11. I doubt it's ash, more likely alder. I don't think you were done, but my personal opinion is that you paid a dealer premium price and that you would have got a better deal on here. I do think it's issues can be sorted out though and yes you should raise it with the seller and possibly eBay as I don't think he was completely straight up
12.
Mine hasn't left Illinois yet according to the tracking
But it made it from there secretly; was waiting for me when I got home
13. A vintage stingray copy that my partner secretly bought for me and my relic p bass (built by the bass doc) are the only two electric basses I own My life would be shorter if I sold the first and the latter looks and sounds effortlessly cool so no need to sell either
14. There was an original listed recently
15. Mine hasn't left Illinois yet according to the tracking
16. Ooh nice I've dealt with highwayone before and can endorse him (Jap p bass with emgs on a very rainy day)
17. Working for a major retailer as I do, permitting over orders at sale time is not unusual - abandoned baskets lock out stock that could otherwise be sold and sometimes retailers get caught out when those baskets do actually finish or an earlier order's allocated stock proves to be substandard or damaged and thus unshippable
18. It's not VERY relic is it ? Come on, do it properly
19. Paint thinners is the same thing - try wd40 furst
20. Yep strictly for total losers
21. It doesn't arrive then I complain to Paypal and get a refund International shipping isn't instant so patience is needed
22. Items have to have a declared worth over £15 to see a customs charge, I thought ?
23.
just a promo exercise to get your details and sign you up for Reverb I suspect
I'm happy to pay two quid and then unsubscribe
24. If I recall correctly it was a 2002 or 03? 3ts plus rosewood And yes I do recall /minor/ varnish issues
25. I had a mex Jazz (bought off Leigh Gordon of morcheeba) which had exactly this issue, I just used it as a thumb reference point; it didn't move, never got any worse. Just wood shifting itself around a bit
