Best advice I have is that if you lose your place, stop playing till you know where you can come in again. If you try and guess it will sound terrible and you'll have to say youre on a jazz odyssey

I'm in a similar boat, first time was terrifying and I did crash and burn, making it harder to try again. But that next time I totally smashed it and the crowd went nuts. They had never heard a precision bass on "loud". Now my big fear is cocking it up and not being able to hide it, which is a different fear entirely and an easier one to deal with

You get graphite rods in the neck and rolled edges plus better pickups I'm not sure the extra is justified myself

seem a bit overpriced to me, not far off used CIJ money but they look ok and if it was nearer £250 as Dood mentions, I might be tempted.

To be honest you're doing well to get to play as you do, I have two small children and a partner with health issues. I get no practice time and only make it to a monthly OM night. Yes it's hard to find time or motivation for the gym but in not convinced that CV fitness will aid you much in playing for longer unless you're exerting yourself too much doing it
