  1. I’m just curious @chrkelly ill never own the real thing
  2. Out of interest, what differences did you see against your 66?
  3. There was a suggestion above that it might be Sen it’s his bass, and his time. Our job is merely to smooth his path using our collective wisdom
  4. Be careful of your choice of colour for your primer, I needed grey undercoat under white top coat to avoid burning people’s eyes out
  5. Am I missing something, or does the title say “a single letter”? I took that to mean “one”. thanks for dissing my contribution though, appreciate that. the “tell a lie about previous poster” thread features the same general adherence by most posters to the rules, with a mild rebuke to those who pick someone from three hours ago. You’re not being singled out here.
  6. That’s changing two letters sax machine would have worked instead of ABC, how about TBC?
  7. No record player, radio always tuned to radio 4.
  8. agree I’d focus on set up… a BC member near you can probably help if you’re new you won’t really know what you’re looking for in a new pickup if the setup isn’t great you’ll be fighting the instrument when things could be much smoother
  9. I used sesame oil on a fingerboard and it came up very nicely
  10. Sea foam green possibly ? Close though this https://www.gak.co.uk/en/fender-player-stratocaster-sea-foam-green/961825?gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1ZGtp96qggMVxd7tCh2NCwM8EAQYASABEgK75PD_BwE note that leo fender originally used only car paint colours made by Du pont - that’s why some of the names are a touch esoteric
  11. You don’t have to reply individually if you put @ followed by a username that user gets tagged to read. You can tag several people in one post see here @The Attic Man
  12. Smart man. All the best people love tortoiseshell. Be careful that an encore pickguard may be slightly different shape than a fender compatible one. There are people who make them to order. The topic comes up on here quite often edit : @The Attic Man here you go
  13. @Thump at least a few of us will likely live near you @Oldman lives just a couple of miles away from me
  14. Just try Warwick’s reds. Cheap and very good Warwick RedLabel 045-105 Electric Bass Strings https://amzn.eu/d/8U2kJar I only play these or adagio flats from eBay - I don’t play well enough or often enough to justify paying more, and IMHO super-expensive strings are not a quantum leap better at my level of expertise
  15. He did say that, but he was a) mistaken or b) talking rubbish and I speak as a jamerson fan
