2. This thread is useless without pics ...
3. Hand in your badge right now, Mister... You won't get far round here with that kind of crazy talk...
4.
Any good?
Yes - I had the active version in four and five string - I got the fiver for £195 from my local crack conveyors Think the active is worth the extra myself
5.
Not sure if it's Active or Passive, I'll try find out!
Passive
6. Buy it without hesitation, especially if it's the active one
7. If I could justify a return to the dark side .....
8.
I play a Warwick in a Funk-Rock band...does this make me hipster or chav? This system isn't the clearest
No - anti-chav. If you are in the same space as a chav there will be an explosion
9. Ditto Very talented guy and very underrated
10.
Congratulations! I have a Bass Doc P-Bass and very nice it is, too. Does this make me a chav? If so, why?
Read first few posts ...
11. I get very little practice, often none for months, so I run through things in my head, read up, and write new bass lines in my head to music that I hear all around. I've beaten several mental blocks like this
12. "Their own" special place
13.
Sounds like a great idea for a separate section for 6 stringers.
Yep then I can avoid it like a weedy, too-many-strings kind of plague
14. I don't normally like red but that's very pretty indeed
15.
Where can you buy a Tokai these days? I always hankered after a hard puncher.
All over the bay Item 271843505560 or 291381310187 as examples Think they are Chinese made now
16.
Don't know about basses, but I've owned a couple of '80's Tokai guitars - Strat & Les Paul copies - and both were very, very good.
Me too
17. I've used this very stuff from this very seller countless times with perfect results Made my jap 62 jazz utterly silent
18. Hmm now I've gone and made a mess of my phone screen
19. You can get it easily on eBay - look for "conductive adhesive copper" Item 360195343162 is an example You could alternatively put a blob of solder on the edge of each piece of tape and check continuity
20. eight handed bass solo and three lovely ladies who can also sing Awesome
21. Brilliant in its entirety
22.
I cracked the finish on my US Std when drilling for the bridge cover. I later discovered the trick of using some masking tape on the area and drilling into that. Not tried it myself but it should help if you do another!
That can work but a really sharp drill bit is more important
23. This is mine https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=F1B48FF289BAE6D2!557&authkey=!AI7gaYTXDBcOhac&v=3&ithint=photo%2cJPG Built by the bass doc to resemble a 70s p. I love it although the neck is a bit of a handful , pup is from a mex classic 50s Has that ponderous clanky dort of tone
24. I did get this happen once (mind you I've only played live twice) and it was from a guitard who told me I "sounded immense" (playing a stingray clone on flatbed through a small ampeg combo). Everyone was clapping along so it can't have been too far out. Told said guitard that I'd made loads of errors but he hadn't noticed apparently
