4. no problem dude. Hope it helps you out.
5. Mouse mat backing ..,.
6.
This doesn't apply to just school children - people of pretty much all ages are like that these days.
I agree, my little one was sent flying by a careless, thoughtless pensioner yesterday There are plenty of thoughtful caring young folks about.
7. I tried it for this very song. 1) see if someone published drum tab for it. (yes, there is such a thing) 2) if not, listen for the bass drum, then approximate where it falls in relation to the beat,. 3) add the snare and hi-hat in same way regarding bpm, a lot of tabs will give a general idea but wyhen you can count the beats, do so for ten seconds, then multiply by six.
8. i found this - this sound about right ? http://www.talkbass.com/threads/acoustic-bass-guitar-setup-specifications.1016490/
9. thanks - those numbers are for an electric ? I read above that acoustics are set higher but since mine has action you can park a bus under, I was wondering whats normal.
10. anyone care to give me a sample value ?
11. if the string is a wider bore, surely the nut will need to be both wider and deeper ? Or it will sit relatively higher to the old smaller bore string. Sandpaper definitely wont do depth, not with any degree of reliability anyways
12. I'd do it now - no one has any money after Xmas. Its not overpriced and they are really good quality. I only moved my five string Peavey on as it broke the three-bass rule in my house. Yours is the four string version exactly (in hardware terms) so for anyone interested I can heartily endorse how good these basses are. Nice range of sounds, 18v preamp, logical controls, quality hardware and a slim neck with great fretwork.
13. Have you tried gumtree ? Just shifted my ac BXP fiver on gumtree for fair money
14. I'd say you have an outstandingly generous wife-to-be
15.
It's definitely a philosophical outlook. I personally don't see the difference between someone slowly relicing a bass over 45 years through use and Mark compacting that same process of use into a shorter time period. I'm still buying a bass that someone else has reliced either way! It just happens that apparently, some people think that their opinion somehow allows them to tell us which kind of 'someone else's relicing' is the acceptable and which one isn't... Well it's my money and I'll do what I want with it :-)
yes, exactly what I think.
16. Thanks --and the action ?
17. Thanks Understand general nut adjustment principles - looking for a steer on normal values for nut height and action on an acoustic
18. Could you give me a clue what yours is at ? Hear what you're saying but I think bridge action is a large part of the problem
19. I'm not sure duress would really work. He might not enforce his clause, but he has got the right to. Whether it would be worth his while legally is another question
20. I have a generic acoustic bass. I think its straight as alreluef at 10th using a capo on fret 1 is about right - credit card thickness - action is still suitable for limbo dancing Strings are phosphor bronze 40- 95 Am I right in think the only thing I can do is file down the saddle ? What action is respectable for an acoustic ?
21.
I've got the hots for Kate Davis.
yes, some quality fingering there. ..... particularly around 2:34 and I just love the little smile when she's done that awesome run. Minx. plays awesome bass, and she's hot.
22.
am still a newbie I am learning how to play for the second time (long story lol) and I am finding it harder this time but it is all about enjoying it but it is so hard to find any spare time to practice when you have a young family but just do what you can dont beat yourself up if you cannot play something put the bass down go have a brew and go back to it
This...
23.
I'm 46 ! It's a hobby to keep me out of trouble ha! Frustrating but also therapeutic !
I had no other training and sucked at music in school. I don't get a lot of practice time due to small children but I read a lot and think my way through it as s substitute for real physical practice. It's slower but you can resolve issues by thinking them through. I've played an open mic night now I have two lessons for you to consider : It's important to remember that you will have good and bad days, and to be able to bounce back from the bad days Practice is more important than flash gear
24.
Don't think it does?.......
I apologise - misread replacement as relief
25. Yes - see my comment above about relief
