13. Squier VMP in white (06) with RW neck. All original parts available and included,.Made by Cort in Indonesia. Has tort plate fitted as shown, the original black item is included. Original Seymour duncan pickups. It sounds lovely. Unmarked except for a tiny dink, painted over, on the upper bout and shown in closeup photo.Approx 4mm long by 2mm wide and barely visible from more than a foot away, I had to look hard for it to take the picture and you can see from the scale of the photo just how close I had to get to capture it. I think this is worth £150 plus 24 hour signed shipping at cost (10 pounds). You could arrange your own courier or collect. Its in the mansfield area in nottinghamshire, just off J28 of the M1. You are welcome to come by and try it. 14. I dont know if Jerry will read this, perhaps he could comment. I actually like this from the outset and particularly the description of his time with Elvis. I really enjoyed his description of his childhood and found his description of the musical interaction in his first gig absolutely rivetting (although I'm not quite sure the word "motherf_____", used by the bartender to a very underage Jerry was common currency in the 50s, perhaps it was). Also very interesting was his discussion of how he came to a moment of epiphany about drugs after what seems like fairly enthusiastic consumption. I also enjoyed his outlook on John Denver and his descent from Country music shining star to a very waning star and how John handled it, or perhaps didnt. I dont think this was meant to be a bass geek book, and it isnt. It is however an enjoyable window into a working musicians life. There are dry bits, but there are enough juicy bits to lubricate them.
15. Sure , but its simple enough for those of us who are a little less practiced to achieve and still think. "That sounded pretty good" . I record my playalongs to see how I did Like I said, you gotta start somewhere, and if mAkes you listen to the drums to make sure you're in time
16.
As hobbayne says about New Years Day. With or without you is a perfect example of a pop rock song that is perfect for live gigging. THAT bass line just forces girls to sway. I wish our lot would do the damn song.
It's simple stuff but I love playing along to it, ditto all along the watchtower live version off rattle and hum
17. I totally sympathise with the OP. I think AC does what's simple, effective and tasteful . If you listen to Please, or the Three Sunrises he can do more complex stuff and he can do melodic stuff like Bad. I like playing along to their All along the watchtower or Pride. You gotta start somewhere
18. can I ask what your location is ? I'd give £12 for the mags but I dont have the extra £8 for postage.
