Slightly off topic, but did anyone else notice that there was a floor mounted autocue with the lyrics during Elton and Gary's duet ? Partner didn't believe me until I paused the tv
Anyone got one to recommend ? Pickup from East Midlands, going to Belfast. Not parcelforce please as they seem to make a hobby of putting holes in things for me
AS-NEW US made American special in absolutely perfect condiion (2012). This is the model with the graphite rods in the neck. It has no cosmetic flaws at all. Comes with perfect deluxe gig bag and all the case candy (unused, unopened).
I'm not really liking the colour but lots of people like red.
Can be collected from near Mansfield. Will reluctantly ship at actual cost (UPS next day)

If you get the right drill you might not even need glue. No harm In it though. I can confirm dowels are a cheap easy and effective solution . Just be sure to cut them off level (chisel) and sand it smooth if it isn't already smooth to the touch
Put a piece of masking tape round the drill at the correct depth to avoid going too far through the neck.

Mine is too, as far as I'm aware it's exactly as it was new (US 2006)

It used to hum loudly but took about an hour to solve
I walked past Chris Bryant's and it seemed to be working
Went to wunjos and didn't realise that bass was a separate shop. Doh . People nice in there so pleasantly surprised after some past surliness
Has a subtle figured wood top, quite pleased with it, it MAY be a keeper
It's very dark grey - has four knobs, two with centre detents. Anyone got any tips on identifying the model. ? It's made in Korea
TBH I always thought expensive was better until recently. The bass doc built me a P out of fairly random Jap parts and spent a lot of time on the set up using my preferred gauge of strings. The result was a world away from even a USA P that I thought was pretty good up to that point. It practically plays itself.
I think the moral is that component quality/build quality can have a nixing factor where its bad but provided its even barely reasonable (ie not a bent neck, fairly even frets) it should be possible to transform any bass into a nice and comfortable experience.
