2. Sorry - I meant in terms of hum noise, buzzing, etc. it's very shielded Glad you've sorted it and you're happy. Again I apologise that a tired partner and tired and unwell tot meant I couldn't spend as much as I would like
3. Very glad that you're happy with it, Mr G. Hope the truss rod tweak sorted things out. Lovely and quiet bass, isn't it ? It was sitting next to my desk all day whilst I waited for mr g to come over and my work colleague was very, very jealous of it. But then he's from the dark side so what can you say?

5.
I have a couple of posh Hercules ones that 'grab' the guitars. £10 if you're local to Halifax?
Yes they are very good
6. Just as fine to deal with in person...
7. You can buy p bass pickups on eBay very cheaply. I got one out of a classic 50s model (a £700 model) for only £8. You can always sell tjhem on if you don't like them
8.
My first port of call Is the basschat marketplace, but sometimes I get a little impatient and then go to evilbay.
This ....
9. You need to check resistance also - less ohms is better. Check from bridge to earth pin, from pickup shielding to pin
10. Bono and bananarama were in there too, along with Paul weller
11. Squier vintage modified precisions can be had for around this money, and they are awesome
12. Line the cavities with copper foil (with conductive adhesive ) then link them to earth A big sheet costs £4 on ebay
13.
According to some a Fender cake would have been better
Only if it was a relic cake or was made in a factory in the 60s by bored Mexicans using worn out tooling Fine piece of cake work there
14. You know how someone says something and it reminds you of a story ? That's how it works for me - a song spills out like a story (well 70% of it anyway ) I then forget to write it down or tell anyone and it disappears into the ether
15. If you have an offset mortgage like I do, get a 0% (for a period) card, put the money to pay off your purchase in a bank accoutn linked to your mortgage (or save it into there) and then pay off the card when the time comes. That way the mortgage gets the beneift
16. I got the bass doc to build me a better "old" fender using similar spec components to the time (1973) and its awesome. Simple and they work. Even non players think they look good
17.
As KingBollock says. I use a Zoom B2.1u which produces a great sound. I think most effects processors these days will allow use of headphones. Zoom B1 is cheap as chips or B3 if you want a few more bells and whistles.
The b2 and b3 have basic drum machines built in also
18. If its as good as some of you seem to think I had best hold on to it for a bit - couldn't afford a new one, that's for sure
19. It's the solder version and works a lot better with a new battery and some idea of what the switches do, for which thank you al
