1. Being sold on thomann - anyone got one ? There's a pretty wood laminate thru neck for nOt much money . Are they any good ? Thanks
2. Sure but no one on here wanted it and I don't want an e-c five string, lovely as it otherwise was
3. Yay my prose finally sold on eBay to a man from Devon - yes i told him about basschat Un yay - not for as much as I would like and I got mugged by PayPal and eBay for fees Also some things I was interested in have gone or are now beyond my reach
4. To be honest - much as I love the idea and the flexibility I don't think I can afford that much, sorry .
5. Thanks - there was a vgc one on evilbay at £269 , I was wondering how much to offer as it didn't sell
6. Still interested myself but awaiting eBay outcome on Sunday
7. Yes I was puzzled too @mb1 what do you mean by "price???" I don't think he's overcharging and he has stated a price from the start. Could you clarify ?
8. Why don't you try eBay ? It's working for me, set it to finish on a Sunday night, or early on in the week
9.
Thanks guys. It certainly feels intuative that the string mass might be an issue - there's a lot less going accross the neck with E-C that B-G. I've wandered between light and medium, perhaps I should try something a bit heavier. Cheers
Talking to prosebass , he said it would be lower tension with a low b
10. My prose bass e to c is very comfortable to Play
11. hi does anyone have an idea what a really mint version in natural is worth ? A search of past "for sale" posts reveals a very wide range. thanks
12. I have short arms so 35" plus 24 frets may be an issue in a way that they are not on a jazz eBay finishes Sunday night
13. Thanks - will think about this carefully but concerned about 24 fret neck combined with 35" as I have short arms too . There is a peavey grind on eBay that didn't sell that's a 35" and many people on this thread seem to rate them
14. This one is on my hotlist - where are you geographically ? Can't see profiles on iPhone
15. I'm not buying (at least yet) as a) my auction didn't finish and I'm unsure about 35" scale. I do think it looks nice and you're not overcharging. So have a bump on me
16.
If you can find a little bit more money there's the Ibanez K5, specifically mine which will be on the marketplace in a couple of weeks . . . .
Ok maybe - dePends on the eBay auction Reserve met - just waiting on final score
17.
Hi - Just spotted this. I have this: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/aria-sb-505-and-little-bit-of-jaydee.html Played very little, had it from new - 5 string players say it's a cracker but I just can't get on with 5 strings!! This is the only five string I have, out of a mountain of four strings and it is in your budget. Whadaythink?? Cheers.
Hmm - will look it up for sPec . It is very pretty although I hate the pointy knob thing . Pm me a price to think about ? You are in east mids somewhere ?
18. Hi I hadn't thought of jd. Oh man ... Choice so much choice. NOw I just need to wait for my eBay auction to end to discover my actual budget Think I tried your double neck at the notts bass bash
19.
http://www.peavey.com/products/instruments/bassGuitars/millennium/index.cfm/item/114084/Millennium%28r%29%205%20%20TransBlack.html iv had one of these for a couple of years now, and apart from the tone knob falling off (dont ask xD) its a really good bass i sprongly recomend this for anyone wanting to by a 5 string and lets face it.... its a nice looking bass
Thanks Yes have heard about them in a for sale thread. People were raving about the active version.
20.
Send me an email to [email protected]. I have spec sheets on the Brubaker Brute Series 5 strings that might fit your budget. Many of the basses mentioned here so far would be great. If I were to recommend the OLP, it would be the OLP 5 Tony Levin model, which actually looks better then the normal OLP and are a little easier to play. Not sure why, but they are.
Ok done
21.
My GSR200 has a different neck to the SR300's i've tried, so an actual SR might be different to the GSR, cheapest is the 300/305 Liam
Thanks I will look that one up
22.
How about a used Spector Legend 5 Classic in Black Cherryburst? 16mm String Spacing, just under 45mm at the nut - the neck profile is (IMO) very similar to a Jazz neck profile, scale length is 35", active EMG's - plays really nicely! Certainly worth a thought! The one on the right! Only pic I've got at the moment - if you were mildly interested I could take some more and upload them...
Thanks - but as I said above I seem to struggle with 35"
