5. Well, it was only a flesh wound
6. It should calm down if you put ice on it. You could also try ibuprofen gel which has anti-inflammation benefits
7. Just a thought - try restringing with lighter strings (like 45-95) to reduce string tension- it will be make it easier to fret notes cleanly. Once you've cracked it, you can go back up to "normal" gauges
8. Try looking for finger stretching exercises on the net, and warm up with them It does take time and practice - How much is up to you
9. Generic high mass bridge which is a drop in replacement for fender basses. Comes with screws, but they were smaller than the OE screws so I reused the OE ones . £22.50 posted please
10. Ok thanks - lots of people have kicked the tyres just - beginning to suspect it has rabies or something
11. Anyone care to tell me if I'm asking too much here ?
12. Mystery to me - its immaculate, shiny, all original and keenly priced :|
13. I'd just say "lots of time spent playing along with the metronome", but the clapping idea above sounds interesting.
14. I used to have a fanned fret shortscale made by prosebass originally. It was teeny yet sounded immense due to the pickups in it, maybe fanned fret would help you ? Wasn't all that expensive
15. These are now surplus to need. Hand made by matte_black on this forum, they can be series or parallel. They have internal shielding, and so have three connectiors of which two go to earth. Currently wired for series and give a nice fat jazz bass sound with no background noise or hum. no visible polepieces so a smooth black face. standard jazz bass sizes, fitted a CIJ 62 reissue perfectly. will load pics tonight. Looking for £30 plus postage at cost for these beauties. Obviously you can collect if you're local.
16. bump due to edit - the bass is now standard and original
17. You can't see it too well in the photo, but its a lovely piece of rosewood and came up nicely with some lemon oil
