1. From left to right, Bronagh Gallagher, angeline ball, Maria Doyle Kennedy (who was also in an episode of father ted) Hang on - you asked about basses, didnt you ...
2. It's important to distinguish between copyright and publishing (in the legal sense). If you hear a song being played, and you're influenced, even subconsciously, to create something similar then the other party have a claim potentially, whether its useful or worthwhile pursuing it or not is another matter. As said above, you need proof of your contribution or your prior art in creating it in the case of just hearing it in a pub So tab it out, write it down, record it on your phone, then send it to a third party. You don't need a lawyer, just someone reliable, perhaps a parent. Put a statement on it, verbally or written of the date and your name.
3. I would nominate my squire vintage modified precision, a white / black/ rosewood one made in Indonesia I paid £80 on eBay as a parts/not working item. It took about 30 mins to fix the issue and clean it up. It was absolutely f£&)ing superb
4. Ive ordered a replica precision bass in nitro from the bass doc so that makes me chav, i suppose. Its in nitro, so it'll relic up quickly, do i get extra credit ?
5. I agree that the 3TSb choice is a bit odd, but I'd buy it (or duplicate it with a 2SB) if I had the money
6. Yep - just ordered one otherwise I'd be all over it. You could hide the cosmetic issues with a dab of black paint - wouldnt bother me
7. Originally part of the RF shielding Now cosmetic
8. Tried a classic 50s and it sounded acceptable. Thanks for all the input
9. Thanks Howard - they were only 2.75 so mot expecting miracles
10. He's already building me a bass at the moment, but I scored a cheap pickup on eBay
11. This item : 140965627905
12. Well TBH I could only just afford the fender pup so I think I will see how it goes with the mex. it's off a classic 50s model and they're not cheap so it might be okay. Need some black pup covers though - anyone got spares ? I also won an aged white covered no-name 80s pup for 2.67 on eBay which might be worth a shot
13. ok, I'm done. Who's next ?
14. Ok thanks - my second question was more for the discerning fender fact heads What do they sound like ? I just won a mex classic 50s pup on eBay so wondering whether to use it or splash the extra for the after market fender "original"
15. These are around £80 from GAK. Anyone tried them or know what models they are fitted to ? Thanks
16. That's not mad, it's just that the cat matters to her more
17.
Right, here we go: As a bass player I'm sure you'll do it deeper.
My lovely partner has actually bought me a t shirt that says exactly that.
18. If I hadn't ordered a build from the bassdoc I'd be wanting this Free bump
19.
It may be a silly question, and I know the CIJ basses were made in Japan - but were the pickups US ones or made in Japan too?
They were made in japan, but to a similar spec to US ones. Even the bog standard jap ones fitted to 62 reissues are quite acceptable.
20. I recognise this. I was talking to the vendor about trading for my 62 reissue but he lived too far away
