1.
Cheers for the extra photo with the weight Phil. Yeah I am having second thoughts about selling it now!
Keep it if you can - I wish I had. Partner was happy for me to keep it
2. I had one of these and regret letting it go
3.
Ah yes, I was going purely on new items, if considering used the Classic 50s is a fantastic bass. Used CIJ/MIJs are also worth a look, they have some of the nicest playing necks around for Fenders.
Yes agree - played one and it was very nice indeed. Pmt knock them out around £500, I would buy one new and I don't say that often
4. It's not always so, I have withheld refund until safe return of goods with eBay consent
5. Maybe it's just your neck - my p bass has no dead or quiet notes. The brass plates do work and I don't think they make much diff to dive Edit: used them before on other instruments, not this p bass
6. They are a bit skinnier but I cope fine with either so it's not a big deal The VMP neck was not over sized on the one I had
7. Lemon oil revived a pale jazz bass neck I bought recently. It's also good for the wood, stick with it
8. That's pretty nice - like the blocks
9.
I thought all US Standards did? My 2012 P does but 2010 Special didn't and shouldn't have done.
True IME
10. If I had £1000...
11. I had a prosebass and it was brilliant Glwts
12. Gold sparkle metallic all over or black to purple burst
13. Well done that girl
14. It's not exactly GAS but I would quite like a really nice sunburst jazz with blocks and if possible a bit of real mojo or some fake relic No time to play but I just like them
15. Yum Like the mojo
16. I've got wood (sunburst and slightly dinged, that is)
17. Wow that is hot <severe envy>

Less frets

Dolphins are very good at flip-bass
19. Wow, I'm a pretty rare phenomena !
20. I had one of these and it was very good
21. Ooh pretty And relic too I wish
22.
The biggest problem with defretting a dream bass is that you might hate the result and not have an easy way back to where you started. As others have said, buying a spare neck or another instrument would be a far safer option.
Yep happened to me. Deeply regret doing it to an otherwise fine jap p copy in the early 90s. If I could turn back time Get a cheapie fretless and use that - vintage, squier vmj or some such
23.
Could be worse, could be tort.
Could be better, could be tort > That is fugly
24.
Don't know if it's a cool thing to admit, but I've always been a big fan of John McVie of Fleetwood Mac. Certainly had a big influence on me when I started out.
Yes indeed - simple stuff done with taste
