Was Asked to play bass behind two acoustic guitarists tonight. They fist-bumped me (afterwards) so it probably wasn’t terrible (thanks god for lending some talent) was aiming for a dark jazz bass sound but sounded disconcertingly toppy through PA - more playing around needed sire v7 5 in passive, mostly front pup middle in tone control

The dowel doesn’t even have to go in straight, just add glue and flatten it flush. Someone who can build a 3D printed guitar is more than capable of this. 👍

Are these still available? Would they handle 250w?

You can dowel it and try again. It’s only wood and it’s isn’t magical. unless it was made in 1962 of course and Leo might have breathed on it, and when touched it fills the air around it with the sound of contented angels exhaling after a particularly fine banquet, in which case it might be a bit magical

Why not just drill out the hole to the size of the dowel? Much simpler

Mine is lack of musical talent, not tendon misshapen-ness perhaps OP is a guitarist and thus more physiologically prone to making lesser degrees of sense ? <joke> @ OP, don’t throw skinny plectrums at me, you’ll need them to move those slender strings
