  1. Works well with fenders too, you still have to let them settle though
  2. I often bend the neck in the direction I’m attempting to move it do that the load on the rod is reduced whilst it’s being moved.
  3. I don’t think the dress would suit you
  4. Surely the acoustic sound and tonal qualities of the wood used make a different sound. Baseball bats are best made out of seasoned wood I hear
  5. Vintage? The tone is different
  6. Credit where credits due… anyway ten minutes have passed … shouldn’t you have bought a Stingray/jazz bass/p bass/Yamaha by now ?
  7. That’s not the scary part, beware “trades” you get sucked into GAS “without needing to spend money” because it’s “just a swap really” and then you start seeing the phrase “…and money my way “ from sellers and it’s still “just a swap” 🤦‍♂️ ….
  8. You, mr @rwillett, are in exactly the right place. And, I might add, Welcome to The Light. At least you’re an ex-guitard now, so you can have hope
  9. Whilst I take a different view to you on retail therapy I cannot accept that you “need to learn to play”; you’re perfectly competent
  10. I’d like to see Belinda Carlisle also
  11. For them ? Yes, but they are just drummers. If they were any good they’d be bassists
  12. My vintage brand precision is amazing. It has design limitations like all precisions but it’s still amazing, so I do disagree with you
  13. Yes but the chips would be better if it was a vintage precision …
  14. What ? Half past two. Nah… boomtish.. double strike
  15. I just freaking play them, even if, like Leigh from morcheeba’s p bass it comes with action that you could a) fit a bus under and b) Jamerson would be proud of It doesn’t matter if it cost £150 or £15000 it just goes thump in time with drums, no one notices the price tag ** btw yes I bought that bass .. from mr Gordon himself ** unless it’s made of wood felled on a solstice, in a leap year and blessed by fairies in which case it will sound better
  16. Fetch my 🍿
  17. Sounds like a whale of a time will be had by all
  18. I’ve seen the work of @Manton Customs in the flesh and that’s what I’d buy if I could justify/had the talent to buy something custom
  19. When I went to one where I used to live myself and one guitarist used to agree a song on the night and just do the best version we could - that worked
  20. There’s two, run by different people who know each other. One is in a pub in town and the other in community centre. I was told by host at the one in town that he often goes to the other and that they need a bass player; however he has never actually turned up any time I’ve gone there so each I spend an hour listening to kids playing violins and guys in their late 60s playing Rihanna songs on acoustic guitars. No one seems to be hosting it. Seems it starts at 8 and is fixed in stone at that point - I cannot get there for 8 due to kids bedtime i have more chance of playing at the one in town but it’s a bit of a step and goes on pretty late which isn’t good as I have to be up at 6 every day and I have chores to do when I get home and don’t want to wake the dogs if everyone is asleep does anyone know a decent OM night around coalvile, groby, Markfield ?
  21. Everyone of those that I’ve had has been excellent - it’s more cosmetics though, than anything like vintage voiced pups
  22. Sure but I was explaining this as the OP seemed unsure of what meterman intended. Personally I’ve never had a conductivity issue but maybe I’ve been lucky
  23. He means get a long thin strip and turns the ends over so copper, not glue, meets copper, and any potential areas of poor conductivity are removed
