Me also, mine was £300 to build and I honestly think £100 to a luthier would have made it at least as good as a lo spec CS

I have this also - the telltale sign is thickening joints in your fingers. turmeric capsules are quite helpful, but get the ones with black pepper in them. Also try fingerless gloves as suggested above -

I think you should learn some theory, it makes it easier to understand what’s going on and to discuss music. I don’t think you need to learn to read music, I can just about though quite slowly. Learning that much hasn’t hindered me in any way. You already learned to read a language way more complicated than music.
