  1. No record player, radio always tuned to radio 4.
  2. agree I’d focus on set up… a BC member near you can probably help if you’re new you won’t really know what you’re looking for in a new pickup if the setup isn’t great you’ll be fighting the instrument when things could be much smoother
  3. Nope, it worked very well
  4. I used sesame oil on a fingerboard and it came up very nicely
  5. Sea foam green possibly ? Close though this https://www.gak.co.uk/en/fender-player-stratocaster-sea-foam-green/961825?gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1ZGtp96qggMVxd7tCh2NCwM8EAQYASABEgK75PD_BwE note that leo fender originally used only car paint colours made by Du pont - that’s why some of the names are a touch esoteric
  6. You don’t have to reply individually if you put @ followed by a username that user gets tagged to read. You can tag several people in one post see here @The Attic Man
  7. Smart man. All the best people love tortoiseshell. Be careful that an encore pickguard may be slightly different shape than a fender compatible one. There are people who make them to order. The topic comes up on here quite often edit : @The Attic Man here you go
  8. @Thump at least a few of us will likely live near you @Oldman lives just a couple of miles away from me
  9. Just try Warwick’s reds. Cheap and very good Warwick RedLabel 045-105 Electric Bass Strings https://amzn.eu/d/8U2kJar I only play these or adagio flats from eBay - I don’t play well enough or often enough to justify paying more, and IMHO super-expensive strings are not a quantum leap better at my level of expertise
  10. He did say that, but he was a) mistaken or b) talking rubbish and I speak as a jamerson fan
  11. Why don’t you use one or more thin layers of copper sheet ?
  12. Could I have this please ?
  13. It was early on, maybe they were not that privileged at that point?
  14. Might one of those many things assist the OP?
  15. Use furniture dowels - who will see the grain there ?
  16. @Bassassin might know
  17. After that, I’ll get it for you
  18. You’re totally welcome mister 👍
  19. I’d never date one, they never split the bill or offer to buy a round
  20. I think that this all was neatly satirised by The League of Gentlemen with Crème Brûlée
  21. Me too. But you get over it once you’ve heard them applaud once
  22. Walk away dude. No guitarist thinks like a real bass player and he’ll lead you off the righteous path of bass clef, being cool and getting people up and dancing
  23. What would your late wife want ? Isn’t that the most appropriate thing to do under the circumstances?
  24. I have a no-load tone pot. It bypasses the pot entirely on 10, and I turn it to about 5 when I don’t want pure P pickup on full bore .
  25. @Phil Starr try it with flats or a sponge mute?
