  1. I think he is drawing our attention to software that might infringe our privacy in the name of advertising. I’ve seen his posts for many years and he seems pretty sane so other than slight amusement at Dwayne’s name, I don’t see an issue here ?
  2. I have a metric ton of these Pm me with your needs
  3. Yep don’t listen to him, it’ll be donkey 😛
  4. F c u k
  5. I played the classic 50s model, which is basically the red one and that was superb
  6. Not at all - improvising is much easier than you think. I’ve got small children and get to a jam night once a month max. I’ve not practiced in years as kids and diy mountain don’t allow. At @How1 also I got thrown in the deep end by a rude OM night host (just this Friday gone) who wouldn’t even tell me what song was next. I had to work it out, google the chords and come up with something, really quickly. Luckily there are sone basic rules about what works and I swam, sort of, rather than sank. I expected to sink, as you do. If you read my started threads, the story is there where are you located ? Either of you that is?
  7. I hear from a Facebook group that there is an OM night where “keyboards have been spotted, so maybe bass is fine” (tr: I’m less likely to get lynched for instrument based non conformity) this Thursday at Stamford arms in groby, Leicestershire I shall report back
  8. I can’t say that anything much in the last 15 years of theirs has seemed much beyond a rehash of older work, or on the same theme. They’re just a karaoke machine, other bands fall into the same class imho, not singling them out they might release “new” work, but I’m not sure anyone goes to their gigs to hear it as Cato says
  9. Actually no, I changed my mind. Can they please go away.
  10. Way past their creative best, can I suggest they enjoy some time off in their retirement?
  11. A metal one. What are you, a guitarist ? Fibreglass vehicles are rubbish in a crash
  12. I would not sand anything off, just buy a replica neck, get it sprayed to match the current one’s laquer and add your logo of choice. really bad idea to do irreversible changes to something with innate and accumulating value
  13. Flats, zoom tube preamp I sound checked with groove is in the heart
  14. Thanks, and entirely fake.
  15. Think what I actually need is a jam night, and that means I have to learn red house, sweet home Chicago etc at my old OM night myself and a local acoustic guitarist used to choose a random song, run it through twice in the corridor and then do it. That worked …
  16. No, it’s all unplanned and on a previous occasion he invited me to do exactly that, including agreeing a tune we’d do in my next visit. so, I don’t think I was unrealistic in my expectations.
  17. This is the offensive thing, but with flats
  18. This is mine, with a blues tribute pickup off eBay
  19. It’s not in Coalville im not even aware of any going on here, travel needed if you or she know of one, please let me know @tauzero
  20. I liked mine, it had nice tone for a cheapie and my daughters found it easy to manage being a shorter scale
  21. Then why run an open mic night and moan that no one comes along to play
  22. He was asking if I “could play acoustic”, meaning six string but I thought since that taking an acoustic bass would totally f u ck him up.
  23. As I said to partner, there’s no way I’m having an acoustic guitar in the house just to make him happy. I sold the one I had as I couldn’t play due to needs of kids during day, and it was too noisy when they were in bed. Which is one reason why electric bass is much superior
  24. You forgot the pedals dude…
