  1. When I saw adam Clayton at live aid being uber cool with a green jazz bass. That led me to “under a blood red sky” I was asked to play a guitar at an online music night. They had sniffed at bass, I told them I played guitar less well than horses do. Click “leave”…
  2. We have lots of Americans, including some who choose to live in this rain sodden hole. @dclaassen i like to think y’all come here because it’s much nicer than talkbass.com I’ve been to the Carolinas, Labour Day 1990 on a work trip. My colleague and I had jagermeister cocktails on the beach just ask if anything puzzles you. It’s not a problem
  3. I’m going to throw a snake into this Whitney-fest - I cannot listen enough times to Bad, the song u2 did at live aid it was this moment when I knew I wanted a bass. I love the sweeping sensuality of the bass and the way it intertwines around the guitar . I vividly recall walking down a tree lined avenue in Greenwich Connecticut listening to the version off the unforgettable fire album on my Walkman . It’s just connected and Interlaced musically and lyrically and that is where I think reg Presley’s pixie dust can be found
  4. They’re quite expensive but maybe they’re worth it ?
  5. It’s still a good idea
  6. A link might help?
  7. Just do it my nitro bass crazed when left in my car ALL winter. Yours is likely to be acrylic paint, I doubt overnight would trouble it
  8. There are several people here who have owned it, perhaps one was the first and would know I’m waiting for a field to sell. Finally got clearance on Friday It could be months, but perhaps I’ll get something like this; partner has convinced me that since I’ve been fighting for clearance from co-owner to sell for two years, and the land is the last link to a place and people that I cannot stand, I should get something nice out of it do you use the piezo ? How does it sound
  9. Do quite fancy one of these as I hope to have some money come in soon. Not in time for this though, sadly GLWTS could its original owner give me an idea what it cost ?
  10. Mind you, that’s from a starting point of 76
  11. Probably twins… In The swarzenegger /de vito sense
  12. So, I’d like to think there’s only one thing that any one person can be wrong about at any given time. Rest assured that after that wildly optimistic statement, you’re pretty much guaranteed to be right about everything else
  13. Yes without a doubt
  14. That’s okay, at least you didn’t say “guitarist” 😅

    Aria bass

Like this ? Double p excepted https://reverb.com/uk/item/11331852-aria-pro-ii-diamond-series-rock-device-bass-1986-black google was most helpful also a YouTube link
  16. And there’s probably more, and more able competition now
  17. Really impressed with “collection only” from “gb, uk”. That is quite non-specific if you dig into it, it’s in Halesowen (probably)
  18. Get that … understandable
  19. After selling my P I’m left with a vintage est96a stingray clone, and a beaten up six string acoustic rescued by Simo from going to the tip. It cost me £7 for the parts to fix it up chap who bought my P says he has 27 basses. Twenty freaking seven. I only have one and understand scythes are being sharpened as I write this. Why are Amazon suddenly out of stock of both tar and feathers?
  20. Word …
  21. IME a wipe over with white spirit shows what a stain might do
  22. I’d say cloth with white spirit, very good for picking up hidden dust and shows imperfections
  23. I have the active bass shown in yellow/natural Can thoroughly endorse it. It has mellowed to a trans honey colour and punches far above its weight
  24. The way I feel today it’s a 1699 Flounder precision bass lute, with tortoiseshell veneer and a bridge made of armada timber
  25. I found that the signal pin was touching. Rotating it solved the problem
