  1. Nice bass (had one) assume the foul weedy thing to its right is something you’re “looking after for a friend”?
  2. And their location
  3. Be careful of the sizes and spacings. You often get an identical pair
  4. Actually I think it depends what day of the week it was made, and if it rained on the preceding Tuesday. And older wood is better, as long as it was blessed by fairies just before it was felled and better yet if they then made a tearful nighttime procession to visit the tree in the wood yard to bid it farewell and safe laquering. Then the tone will be magical
  5. Yes, but mine was funnier
  6. No, it is not, definitely not, okay
  7. What was that danish king … him with the waves … oh yes … Canute (some vowels here are unnecessary)
  8. I think your fears are justified guitards are ten-a-penny, find others i
  9. I haven’t been to a gig in so long I can’t remember:( it may have been hayseed Dixie kids …
  10. There’s something very wrong with that … can’t quite put my finger on it … 🤔 oh yeah … got it … wimpy strings and so small … 😳 GLWTS (in a tiny typeface)
  11. She got hay in her eye and is currently being seen in eye casualty I’m cleaning the kitchen until she gets back with her mum As little one is asleep … living the rock and roll dream
  12. Sadly not going as daughter ill
  13. Off to the 3 nuns in Loughborough- last time I went there in nov 22 i chickened out as I’d done no practice time due to money pit house and the mysterious passing of five years of diy drudgery. Partner urged me to go. I’ve still done no practice but am determined to get back in the saddle so am going to ask to sound-check at outset (p with flats) for a confidence factor then ask the hosts to pick a song which I’ll practice until they call it. (Sound check is either “the chain” or “groove is on the heart”) then I shall jump straight to performance with all the grace, agility and musical talent of a ten ton cat. as sheryl crow said …“crash and burn” but maybe not … last time I did this an audience member came up after and said “nice to hear a bass instead of all the weedy acoustics” I shall report
  14. Actually quite fancy one but my daughters are anti-pink and would lynch me
  15. I’ll buy one when my talent outstrips the b2.1u that I have. which will be never .
  16. I release you from your momentary vow of restraint. Perhaps if you fit racking on the ceiling you can fit it in. Somewhere
  17. In farming country you could change the name to BlackUdder
  18. Praying for inheritance plus you getting bored of it
  19. That’s if he gets past the attack dogs and the portcullis. And the machine-gun emplacements
  20. If you got bored, or decided you didn’t like it ….the bass I mean, not the colour
  21. @rita often it can take months to arrive back with you. A returned item from Romania took three months.
  22. You’re doing just fine on that
  23. I’m slightly confused by his “there were two guitarists already so I bought a bass” story in The Unforgettable Fire, by Eamon dunphy it says that Adam was at boarding school and begged his parents to buy him a bass so he could play homemade “dirges” with a school friend edit Wikipedia has the story the same way I recall it from that book. See “early life” on his Wikipedia page - he got one at 14, so perhaps his memory is failing him
  24. I think 50 plus years of residency from childhood is enough to acquire at least something of a Dublin accent
  25. You’ll be fine
