    No, it’s because edge composed & played the bass line when they were recording it. AC didn’t think it was a good song (he’s not a Christian) as it was based around psalm 40 and had “gone for a walk”. Ever since, they’ve swapped instruments for this one song

    I’m sure, that’s exactly what I meant. I’m grateful that I don’t suffer from it as I imagine it would be maddening. My partner moans if things are slightly wonky on a washing line, or they are hung upside down to how you’d wear them. It really doesn’t matter

    Consider also “blues tribute” pickups on eBay; little known but very very good

    I’d have bought a no-load tone pot from fender. At 10 the tone control drops out and gives you undiluted pickup
