1. Just bought one of Umph's looper pedals that he made up. Nice neat little pedal , easy transaction Cheers
2. Having had a quick look on the web , go and have a look on the apple site, it looks as if with version Express 8 & 9 they have tried to standardise the interface main arrange screen. So the basic look and feel is as Logic 8 & 9 , there isn't much missing other than less plug-ins effects, software instruments , and a smaller sample library . All the other things that with Logic you probably dont need yet ! Heres the link to the EXpress 8 pdf manual http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/Logic_Exp...and_Effects.pdf I think I saw the upgrade from Express 7 to 9 on amazon for about £54 . its either that or get hold of a student to see if he can get you Logic for a cheap price then you will have the lot , and you can spend hours confusing yourself, its all good good fun!!!
3. Dont let graphs and things get in the way mate. In the past I have set up a basic template to start off , ie , couple of audio tracks , couple of instrument tracks etc. I find the biggest problem with any of the programmes is maintaining the inspiration of ideas. Logic is I find is very good at keeping you going. Just keep putting as many ideas down as you want , you can always come back and edit later. I call my efforts Dabbles , so in the current folder I'm up to Dabble 70 . This guy http://www.youtube.com/user/SFLogicNinja is an extremely talented person who has found the time to share some of his knowledge , and bloody good on im I say! Have fun Cheers Nigel
4. Hi Guys Thanks for getting back So its a Looper I need then, as Silent Fly has pointed out. Al Heely your right about the pedals, with the exception of probably the EBS Octabass , the others seem to suck too much out of the original bass tone. I see you make some quality kit Silent Fly , do you make a Looper or were you redirecting me to somebody else in your original post? Anyway thanks again for taking the time to get back to us. Cheers Nigel
5. Hi Guys I wonder if anybody could enlighten me with there recommendations and experience etc. I'm thinking I will probably have to get one have no idea which. Also what is the best way to cable up would you go: Bass Guitar > Bypass Pedal > EBS Octabass > Dod Envelope Filter > EHX BASS Synth > EBS TD650 Head or: Bass Guitar > EBS TD650 Head ,and every thing else through the effects loop including the bypass? Hope that makes sense , many thanks in advance. Cheers Nigel
6. Oh man! If I had the funds I'd have the Sei off you mate , it looked stunning and the neck was gorgeous !
7. Have a bump on me! I have the fretted version of this , and it is truly a great bass. Also it is a real tone monster for live or studio work , I think quite a few pro's have had them as a bit of a secret weapon in the studio. Dont play fretless myself unfortunately , otherwise I would have been quite tempted to have a matching pair. Good luck with the sale!
8. If you do split it up , remember I'll still have the cab off you, cash waiting!
9. I always thought I should have got one of these , at least once in my life! I really must get round your place sometime !

Cheers Bob
If I hadn't just spent out on an amp head i might have had this to match my natural Marcus Miller , bugger ! Know what you mean about 5-string I'm the other way round, play 4 get nervous with 5
15. "Sounds great- really versatile- has an original 70s style bridge." Yep they are great basses, just wondered why you did away with the Badass bridge ?

Horns!

Hi all Just bought Bigthumbs EBSTD650 off him the other day, great amp! I have an old 4x10 and was wondering how easy would it be to install a horn in it , so that I can take full advantage of the amps range. Anybody know what EBS use as there horn in there cabs , or even where i start looking. Just kicking ideas about at the moment, so any comments welcome . Cheers
19. Just picked up the EBS TD650 head off Paul. Great communication, great gear, top bloke!

21. You might aswell have this link http://www.hellforleather.tv/component/opt...tpage/Itemid,1/ not cheap but think xmas present. I know Martin , and he's told me I need his Guy Pratt bass strap after he saw me struggling with mine, I just keep forgetting to give him the measurements . He's been doing this stuff for years so it will be good stuff, he's also a bass player himself.
22.
+100000000000 GK 1001RBII + Barefaced Compact = :brow: When I practice I find the opposite to Mr.T . Wherever there's a TE amp I know I will not be able to get my sound right. The only thing they do for me is just sound like mud with loads of boom to it but don't cut through the mix nat all IMHO. We sometimes use places that have Ashdown gear and that sometimes sounds as it should but I find that the bass has to be cut to minimum and treble and mids have to be almost on maximum to get my sound. When I'm doing gigs I don't have to tweak anything really as I can always hear myself loudly and the sound of my rig is sweeeeet. Still remember Bernie the soundman saying '' There's to much bass coming out from that rig''
Interesting ! Just found this on the Barfaced Compact site " The current price is £400 and we can ship to anywhere in the mainland UK for £25. As these cabs are designed for gigging the best way to know if these cabs are for you is to take them on a gig! We are thus offering a 14 day trial period for you to find out if this is your ultimate bass speaker solution. Return the cab undamaged to receive a full refund of both the £400 purchase price and the £25 outbound postage and packing. " Umm scratches chin in deep thought
