I've currently got two plus a defretted one in pieces. I did sell the third in anticipation of replacing it fairly soon afterwards, however some stuff has come up so that won't be happening for a few months by the looks of it.

A good Fender Mexi jazz should do the trick, if you go for that make sure to play a few though to try & find the best one.

He's really outdone himself this time!

Tried a lot of different basses & would like to think I'll always put a good Fender jazz first. Although I am yet to try Sadowsky...

Was a great site, got quite a few tracks still on my comp. Some of the stuff was just simply interesting to watch & look at. Like Jamiroquai tracks etc where they had tabbed every instrument. Such a shame it was all taken down, although I think there are a few other sites around, but they're all for the new Guitar Pro now.

Go see a physio. They should send you away with some decent stretches as well.

Go for a Squier, great opinions on the new VMJ etc here. I had, actually have (although in bits!) a vintage V900, it's an ok bass but you'll be hankering for more after not long.

Perhaps going for a more conventional image for the first page you would expect a visitor to see?

Some good points made in the initial post & reponses. I've had a MIM jazz & now a MIA jazz. I didn't buy the MIM based on the name etc, I got it when I was 15, most of the bands I were listening to at the time were using brands such as Ibanez & Warwick so if I'd gone for what I was mainly seeing on the TV then it would have been something along those lines. Bought the Mexican because of the neck (the width & smoothness) & of course the sound. Was really happy with the Mexican but just wanted to upgrade so got my MIA, sunburst finish, maple board & a black pickguard that I got for it, gorgeous. I did look at other brands when I was looking to upgrade, the only alternative I would have gone for would have been a Sadowsky though. Anything considerably better IMO is a lot more expensive.

Do you really need all that for a start!?

Don't see too many vintage sales on Ebay with so few photos though, eg. no pots or neck heel shots etc.
