1. Withdrawn. Now that I've got my 'Ray it doesn't feel like anything is missing between the 2 of them. Thanks for the interest guys.
 2.
Glad it worked out for you Joe! Tony was very pleased with the deal and was equally complimentary about you...
Good stuff. He also played me some band recordings to show me what the 'Ray sounded like. Was awesome, lets just say if it was out on CD i'd buy it.
 3. As members have said above, that looks pretty cool without the pickguard.
 4.
haha, sorry to derail. The DLX is natural wood (mahogany or swamp ash) with a through neck and humbuckers. Might be interested if it is and you do end up getting rid of it
Deff ain't DLX then. It's a bolt on. Very nice finish though.
 5. It had to be done. Excellent deal & Tony, the guy selling it, was a really nice guy!!
 6.
Joe, is that the DLX?
I wouldn't quite be sure tbh mate. Didn't wanna hi-jack the thread by going in to detail. I got it a few years ago, idea being to have it as a bass to leave in the locker at college (few towns away) However I ended up always using my Warwick or MIM jazz & consequently it's just sat around since.
 7.
Every now & again the bottom pickup gets a bit moist after lots of use, but after a short rest & a wipe down, then she's happy to carry on where we left off.
Haha oh dear!! ----------------------- My '89 is in need of some replacement noiseless pick ups, unfortunately the volume control is also broken.
 8.
Those are good to start with, once you learn the pattern for one then it's a simple matter of changing the root note.
Yep & an excellent fingering practice & ear training tool from there, provided you're in tune!
 9. I've got a Pilot V, 3 band EQ. Excellent bass & very well made. Keep a look out if anyone is interested because I will probably be parting with it soon!!
 10. Hey mate welcome. Agree with rjb, cool intro!
 11. Wrong place mate. Plus there bound to be going on Ebay.
 12.
I must go there sometime. Just to experience it myself.
Yeah I'm thinking the same, sure I've probably been in there when I did a tour of the shops in Denmark Street a few years ago though. Would be fun to go in with a wad of cash!!
 13.
I've not sold anything I really regret but I am trying to decide whether to part with my Warwick Streamer Std4
Talking from experience I wouldn't do that right now, keep on to it!!
Spector Q6 Pro.. (2nd from left)
Damn that's a nice looking bass!!
 14.
Somebody who has known the owner for years told me the store became successful because they always encouraged youngsters to try out their stock. Then when those people got older and started earning money they came back to buy.
Yeah there are always so many kids in there happily jamming away on instruments.
 15. Would be interesting if some one invited them here to have a chat, doubt they would do it though.
 16.
Incidentally, I know a lot of people here are aware of this, but new members may not be. On the counter, there is an A4 sign, stood up in portrait. On this sign, it says: Want a bass? Short on Cash? THEN DON'T WASTE OUR TIME. Those disgusting cretins!
That's awful!!
Local to me, the bass department in GAK is pretty good too.
Yeah that's a nice place there! Went in it recently for the first time in years, lots of stock now! When I used to go in reguarly it was just the back of the shop reserved for bass.
 17.
Nice to hear of another West Sussex based Basschatter!
Yeah didn't think there was many here! I've PM'd you mate.
 18.
I've had my 91 Thumb NT up for sale for £1000 and no takers yet. I'm not prepared to let it go for a lot less than it's worth, so it looks like I'm keeping it for now. That just seems to be the current state of the market.....people tightening purse strings, etc. So either sell for a low price or hang on til prices lift again.
Yep we are looking at hard times. At this rate it's going to be held on to.
 19. Oh crap why did I come in here & see this. Was planning on a SR in the future! Your profile says you're based in Littlehampton, are you over more that way any time soon? I actually live in Worthing.
 20.
On the way down the street I went back into the first shop where the chap had since been joined by a colleague, I took my B2A out of the box held it up and asked Mr lazy "Do you have a case for my new bass?" - knowing that he wouldn't, but enjoying the look on his face.
Haha excellent, bet that was satisfying.
 21.
Open to trades?
What you got mate?
 22.
originally the Flea Bass was called the Sonichammer, before Flea fell out with Musicman (allegedly because they wouldn't give him a signature model) and switched allegiance to Modulus.
Chad Smith was getting $100k for royalties regarding snare drums. Flea liked the sound of this so went to Sterling Ball asking for a signature model. He got told no as it wouldn't be fair on all the other famous Stingray users, so off he went!
