I would have no idea how much to ask for my fretted bass for example
You would have to provide everything you may have then. Receipts, photos etc etc. Also you may be asked to take that stuff to a luthier or someone to see if they could do a valuation to also submit to the insurance company.
2.
EDIT: that often means I've valued things at a higher price than I paid. Does that constitue insurance fraud?
Insurance will pay out the value of the item for today's price so if you've valued it based on that then don't worry. If you value things at stupid prices then you would get marked as possibly fraudulent. When I worked in home insurance claims a lot of people would be wanting the £2000 that they paid 10 years ago for the tv that now costs £100.

4.
The customer service / correspondence was fast and very helpful
As long as they really try to keep that up and the fast delivery then they should be alright. I emailed Thoman weeks ago regarding a Sandberg that I loved the look of. Didn't hear anything back from them and that plus my little ordeal with one of their big competitors has made me very sure that I will not be trying to order anything from Germany again.
5. Ah right ok. I was just thinking you might have been looking at importing from a big firm in Germany (not Thoman) and I was going to seriously advise agains't it if that were the case.
6. Where are you thinking of getting it from mate?
7. Cheers for the offer of doing that but I just wouldn't be able to get up anywhere any time soon at all mate.
8. Any photos of the actual bass?? Will help the sale.
9. Down on the south coast mate so quite a treck lol. Reason I ask for sound files is I have been looking at this bass but haven't found it anywhere locally to try out and there doesn't seem to be much on the internet to show it off.
10. You can amend the advert at any time. I wouldn't put the "buyers with less than blah blah blah" in now though because obviously that guy has gone and bidded. But theres nothing stopping you from putting in a Buy It Now function and then having the other guy whos offered you buy it right then and there.
11. Any sound clips or anything mate? That would be helpful in this case (for me anyway ) Also what year manufacture is it??
12. I don't see how anyone would want to buy without seeing a picture first I might be interested if you could get a couple of photos.
13. Should get my money back soon, bank charges not taken in to account. They wouldn't even transfer in sterling, won't give an inch. Once I've got it back I will probably try pursuing through my bank regarding the charges.
14. Now got a reply saying they've spoken to Warwick who can get a replacement, however they can't get it as cheap as the other one they sold so therefore can they have my bank details to refund me. So it's either the option of an alternative bass that I don't particuarly want, or a refund minus £30 or so.
15. Respect to your daughter mate, you never know how far she may go. Mind over matter and all, theres so many kids out there with different set backs who have far exceeded expectations. I reckon (and hope) this whole Guitar Hero thing will blow over soon. Got a few mates that have been in to it, I've had a go a couple of times but every time it's just made me feel guilty that I hadn't picked up the real thing more etc etc. If your in to South Park mate there's an episode called Guitar Queero, quite a good one lol.
16. This is still on going... They've now told me that they are going to contact Warwick today to see if they can source another one. I've been waiting all morning to hear but nothing in the inbox yet. They've also told me they will not pay my bank fees if they are to give a refund. So right now it looks like I've got the choice to just sit on the possibility that they can get another one (no idea how long it would take, I wouldn't think too long but you never know do you!) or they refund me and I've wasted approx £27 at least on bank charges. Starting to get pretty p*ssed off now.
17.
The Sadowsky has a 34" scale, the Lakland is a 35". That point alone can could eliminate either bass, depending on what you prefer.
I was so close to ordering a Lakland from America, but in the end I decided agains't it based on it being 35". I did get to play it at GAK in Brighton. It's very versatile.
18. Yeah handmade German basses, they have a few and look pretty good but there is an 8 week waiting period and I just want to get a bass/my money back and get out lol. I've now emailed them saying I've had a good look through the site but can't find anything I'd like and that I want a full refund that also covers all bank charges that I have incurred/ may incur having the money sent back... or a custom shop corvette $$ that has taken my fancy but is however 200 euros more.
19. Hi mate, It's in Frankfurt, the shop is a big place. Guys what do you think of Sandberg basses???
20. I doubt a full refund to be honest, it cost me £20 to send the money and I will probably get charged to receive the money back again so I'd be losing about £40 from the whole experience I think.
21. I ordered a Warwick Streamer $$ from a shop in Germany because it was in the sale, I did this last Sunday and on Monday was asked to make a money order to them. I made this on Tuesday. I just received a call earlier to tell me that they have my money (£968 worth of euros!) but that they've sold the bass!!!! I was at the doctors at the time so told him I'd call or email back. I don't believe this!!! Did they wait for my money to turn up before actually reserving the bass?!?!?!?!?!
22.
wonder if he's planning to move to london, for the lovely weather, fantastic cheap housing and relaxed low-cost city lifestyle.
He's British so he won't fall for that!
