yeah and I bet my left arm its the minimum wagers within the company that have to do this horrible job.... while the owners and managers sit and smile in there expensive suits!
Claims work is well paid for call centre based work actually & can lead on to decent opportunities. You're right about the management etc though! It has left me with some cynical views towards insurance, especially considering insurance is sold as peace of mind.
As much as I dislike the delaying and avoidance tactics of many insurance companies, I have to say that I agree with them on this occasion. If riot and looting are excluded from the insurance policy then the insurer has every right to query the expedient usage of the 'organised theft' description that has been rolled out by the government spindoctors.
Yeah that's fair enough. From a point of having worked in insurance claims though it's not a nice feeling to tell someone they've lost everything.
They found £90m for Somalia, which went out on the quiet, and sure enraged me enough, I'd hope they could find some for their own people.
I gotta say I agree they seem to cough up money for various things. I'm joining icastle on the cynical side though. & yep the insurers are sure likely to drag their heals.
Me no speaky Eenglish. Me not on Basschat so me no see me busted big time.
I was expecting an angry response or simply no reply at all. I take it as for the tshirt it was suggested by his guitarist mate that as he was temporarily taking possession of a bass then he'd need a Bassist tshirt? -

Interesting development, just got this back from the seller... "Yes, it has those pickups, my mate who is the guitarist told me to get those and he fit them himself." -
And I thought he played a Lakland Bob Glaub
That bbc2 programme a few weeks ago? Yeah was deff a Lakky.

Be interesting to ask him if it's a Custom Shop & see if you get back "sorry, not sure." -
I really, really don't want to be doing this, but needs must due to cash problems. I was going to put my 91 'wick up for sale but after a good noodle earlier I've realised I can't do it & that if I did part with it it would be a lot, lot harder to replace at a later date. Therefore up for possible sale is my Sadowsky Metro in trans blue with a maple board. It is one hell of a bass, I bought it from the forum's very own Gareth only a few months ago & at mint condition. It has 2 very, very small nicks on it, 1 below the bridge (I was changing strings in a bit of a hurry) & the other on the tip of the headstock (the annoying type where you have no clue where it came from!) I like to be thorough when offering gear up for sale so this is the only reason I mention these. It could pass for new otherwise. It's a bloody nice bass to play, just feels right with a nice low action & you can achieve some great tones out of that famous Sado' preamp. Very bright & punchy! Had many compliments regarding this beauty. SOLD Joe
I've asked him 'Does this bass have the original pickup, or the one you bought on Ebay from chguitars? '
Couldn't resist either. Sent "does this have the original 'Fender' one or the £15 one you bought recently on Ebay? Spose you wouldn't know though as you "don't know much about guitars." Why is this auction still live though?! Only 2 hours to go & someone is potentially going to be very unhappy. -
Can anyone tell me definitively the price of a new USA Fender Jazz Bass Standard edition? The reason I ask, is that I have been trying to swap my two USA fender Strats for one with no luck. I have looked around at the second hand Basses and they seem to be more expensive than the new ones. The prices I'm seeing are all over the place. I'm seeing £300 difference from one shop to another and I don't think that can be right. I'd have much rather had a well looked after used bass that's been set up and nicely worn in, but they mostly seem to be Special editions and re issues for almost same price as they can be bought for in shops. Thanks in advance.
They seem to be around the £1100 mark across the board? The £300 difference or so you might be seeing in some shops may be the American Deluxe??

Sounds good mate.

My best mate started playing guitar & I wanted to get involved but not copy him. Thinking back that is more or less the main reason.
Each Sei Bass is an individual creation and although there is a limited number of body shapes available just about everything else - woods, hardware, pickups and electrics are down to what the individual customer has chosen. All the basses are fantastic but each has been tailored to that particular customer's requirements. They are like bespoke suits - you can appreciate the quality but don't expect someone else's to fit you.
Interesting. So highly customised basses wouldn't really be the way to go then.

What do people reckon on Sei bass?

These guys are great. That Lady Gaga cover is my favourite. Great slap line in the verse that hasn't just descended in to noise. Hopefully they will upload more soon.
Bloody hell Dan....how weird's that!! I feel like a bit of a curse on you!
I'm having a lot of car problems at the moment Pete & it looks like I will have to sell my Thumb 5 that I of course got from you... I think you owe us an apology! Seriously though, good luck with the sale. Massive shame.

I know the point is the pictures are shocking, but I can't actually spot the case? Am I just being a bit dim??

I've not been able to get on with the chunkier necks on the newer Warwicks for a few years now due to wrist problems, it's the reason I got rid of my 03 thumb & eventually got a 91. Plus I'm having to get rid of gear at the mo due to cash problems. Tbh dude you've got a bass you love, which is an awesome piece of kit & some thing a bit special. Therefore though you really want some thing else I think you'd be mad to get rid of this at a rock bottom price.
