Anyone know where you get the 'Fecker' Bass logos ideally for Jazz I've had a search about and only find a couple of Ebay shops that do the Bender etc Cheers for your help Ade
IIRC, it's the same guy but he does batches of each so he's kinda got a rolling stock. Drop him a line, he seems like a decent bloke! He was at one point trying to figure out how to do a TRC for Rics with Blackendecker, Rickenfaker, Frankenbacker, Breadandbutter etc etc for me, but no word as of yet!

Pedal to make finger style sound like a pick ???
phil_the_bassist replied to Marcus's topic in Effects
One thing Nathan east does(apparently) slightly grow your fingernails on your picking hand
Mrs PTB's nails are long, and she gets this mad pick-like attack with some rounded tones of fingerstyle. It's pretty genius tbh! -
im really quite tempted by this actually, more i look at it... (imagine with a status neck..... ), where are you?

Bollocks to a Status neck mate, the birdseye maple is the only reason I would buy this bass because it looks so damn sexy
BIG +1 No-one should mess with that neck, it's a thing of absolute and awe-inspiring beauty!! Not even you Kev, with your lust for graphite should do that! or, if you do, I'll definately buy the neck off ya

you could always play lefty, but buy righty and string it upside down, a la cobain and hendrix et al...you get to keep your dexterity, and get the choice of basses (but upside down!) so could be a win-win?

the singlecut 5's pretty hot too! Looks like you've got yourself a beast there, defo post clips and pics when you get it!

I just noticed that everyone else had emailed him re. the sterling pup too! He must realise that the worlds now too small to go about messin with us low-enders! YOU MAY RUN, BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE!! BWAHAHAHAH!! I might now email him asking why he's swapped the sterling pup with the original!
I never actually hear anyone giving Warwicks a hard time on here, just people asking why they get a hard time! (that's not a dig by the way). All I've ever really heard against them is the neck profile, the price and the dreadful factory setup. The only one of those that's a problem for me is the price!!
Gamble's bass has shown me that warwicks do have something special about 'em! Every one previously was a freakin nightmare, intonation's out and actions been higher than a really high thing on stilts...but if that gets sorted then they're a very nice bit of kit

Nuthing wrong with a second hand bass! Welcome to BC, you'll find a LOT of knowledge and advice on tap on this forum, and when you find you've got a bit of money to spend there's always a bargain to be had in the For Sale threads! Take it easy Phil

I've hardly bought anything from EvilBay since I started on basschat! It's so much nicer, friendlier, more trustworthy, communicative and respectable than ebay, and the only thing i DID get (the cheap hartke strings) was a pain in the arse, as they shipped half one week, then the remaining half 10days later! BC rules, and you knows it!

My band is looking for a cellist
phil_the_bassist replied to Weird War's topic in General Discussion
we've got a cellist playin with us at a charity thing in a few weeks, and I know she comes from london. I don't know whether she'd be up for your band (as I get the impression she's a proper, full on, hardcore classical type) but she might well know some other cellists who're up for it! I'll ask, and get back to you! -

Who actually feels 100% happy with what they've got?...
phil_the_bassist replied to Josh's topic in General Discussion
And my GAS has seemingly dissapeared.
I'm 100% happy with my gear. I think my hartke will last me till I'm forced to downsize (which won't be for a while!) and my ray is superb. Admittedly I did just buy a new preamp, but that's merely to experiement and see what different tones I can get...NOT because I don't love the sound of my ray atm. My technique will never be 100%, cos I'll always be striving to be that bit quicker/smoother/funkier/more technical/more knowledgeable/more fluid etc etc, but I'm pleased with where I'm at. I hope to one day not want for anything, basswise, but that'll NEVER happen -
if all else fails, at least you used a c/c so it's insured against this sorta thing. Defo name&shame, also, in your emails say that "unless it gets sorted soon, you'll tell all your musician friends and collegues about the appauling service" etc. the threat of bad press usually kickstarts a chain reaction to get you your gear! also, a proper hardcopy paper letter sent to the manager/MD can often initiate a response! good luck gettin it sorted mate!
My gear is now as below having added the two cabs bought from Monz at the SE Bash (cheers). Both cabs are 8 ohm, amp runs down to 4. Ideal! Question is do I run a lead from both speaker outputs, one to each cab, or one lead into one cab and then from there into the other cab to get maximum performance. Colin
I asked a similar question and got the response that if you've got two outputs use 'em! Twofold reasons, one: if it's got it as an option, there must be some benefit two: if the lead from amp to cab-A dies mid gig, you loose all sound, whereas if you're running two leads from your amp to two cabs, if one dies you get a drop in volume but can carry on playing. BTW, was good to put a face to the name! wish I'd managed to have a go on the JD, mebby next time eh?
Thanks for the welcome, guys! Phil, this was in 2002. Club Fandango!
right timeframe, wrong promoter we never got any response from C.F., much the pity! Ahh well, mebby we'll share a stage once I get back into the originals circuit!
