I'm guessing if you don't need the options the LS-2 has, the VFB-jr is buffered and true bypass? And smaller board footprint.
That's what I thought, after from checkin out my options. The LS-2 looked like it'd be something that I'd need to spend time figuring out, whereas the VB-jr I could just twiddle for 5mins and BINGO! job done. Same reason the VFB was dropped from my choice...I can't see myself needing a feedback loop at any time in the future, so why loose the board space

Zen and the art of bass tone
phil_the_bassist replied to stonecoldbass's topic in General Discussion
Good story! Doesn't matter what type of music you play, there is always a sonic relationship between the different instruments in a band setting which can be ruined by poor use of e.q. or improved by sensitive use of e.q.
ok, I kinda get what's being said about EQing bass to the kickdrum (I understand that they're there to compliment each other) but does that mean trying to make your bass sound like the kick drum (e.g. kinda boomy/wooly in the case of my regular drummer) or to compliment it, like the way the snare and a tom sound when hit together? -
Not Very Interesting String Nut Jobbie
phil_the_bassist replied to BassMunkee's topic in General Discussion
So I get my new Rotosound 40/100 with the nice red cottony bits on and I take my old strings off and put my new strings on... G: check D: check A: oops - doesn't fit in my nut, the old strings were the same gauge, so anyway I try some brute force. That's better. E: check Tuning up: check Bit of a play: oo-er that's a bit funky, and not in a James-Brown-Sexy-Crotch way So me nut's come off, pulled off by the A string d'oh. So anyway a bit of filing later and some super glue and we're good to go, strange though coz when I changed the strings 3 years ago or so, they fitted fine, still there we go. Thought I would share that.
r a n d o m -
Don't bother. I don't risk anything if my gut tells me otherwise. Alternatively, have him put it on eBay. If he is serious then the fee's wont be a big problem and you will get the in built protection paypal has to offer. Garry
actually that's a crackin idea! Doesn't paypal offer some protection/recourse if it all goes wrong even without the Ebay association? When I pay BCers, it's invariably via paypal, and it seems to suit eveyone! *spelling edit* -
It's a deliberate mispelling done to poke fun at people who do it accidentally, sometimes used ironically, like: ZOMFG111!!!111!!11!1111!!!!! or WTF???////?/?
ahh! Thats teh sh*t, right there! lol! kthnxbai! edit: in case it's not already up here, 'kthnxbai', 'kthanxbai', 'kthnkzbai' etc etc is a shortened bastardization of 'Okay, thank you, goodbye', popularly used by Lolcats. -
I had a bit of a scout around, and Bob the Blender's valve freak all hell outta me! I'd be sooo paranoid about busting it, it just wouldn't get used. The Boss just didn't tickle my fancy. looks like a great pedal, but it didn't GAS me up! The Twin Amp thang...would LOVE to, but I can barely fit my Hartke on the stages I use, let alone another amp too! So, I have (with the kind help of Toasted) recently aquired a Barge Concepts VB-Jr (cos I didn't need, or even manage to imagine, any time I'd use the feedback loop of the bigger pedal)...I'll letcha know how I get on when it arrives! Thanks for the help!

Hey all, it's a random question I know, but I'm trying to track down any other work by this guy. He was the bassist for the Dust Junkys, and I'm hoping a few of you Mancunians might've heard of 'em! It was a combination of his & Stu Zender playing that got me into bass and I was curious as to what he's up to now! Any ideas?

possibly worth a look if it doesn't go much past the start price...?
