Ok, now I'm getting more into the fx side of bass I'd like to start knowing how it all happens. I know the basics e.g. signal goes in, passes thru some electrical components (sometimes via a foot-operated potentiometer ) and goes into your amp. So how does this actually happen? do you just solder a load of doohickeys in series, pass the signal thru and hope for the best? What makes a flange sound flangy and not like a wah, or fuzz, or chorus etc etc etc? If there are any books on this, then let me know and I'll stop botherin you! Umph, I know you build your own pedals...would you be able to impart some of your wisdom to a lesser mortal?

I've got a gig coming up where I've got to read from a stand and I don't know what the lighting levels are gonna be like...anyone recommend a music stand light? I've got a collapsable Ashton musicstand, if that helps anyone!

I'm trying to push myself to read music, and I've found that cello pieces (Bachs concertos mostly) have really helped improve both my reading, finger strength and dexterity. The trouble is, I'm a bit hard-up atm and was wondering if anyone knew a free/cheap way to access bass clef sheet music.

I'm there! The only things I've got of (possible) interest are my Hartke stack (HA5500& VX215+VX410) and my MM SR5 3eq Should I bring...?

Morning! Right, as a few your you know, I've recently purchased a veritable smorgasbord of pedals from members of this forum. I've had the first delivery of a spankin' cool Morley wah from Bassballs, and also encountered my first logistical problem which I'm hoping you guys can help me with. It runs off 2x9v batteries, or off a "12-18v" power supply. Now, my tuner runs of a 9v supply, and I was wondering what I'd need to run both pedals (and the other 3 i've got arriving in the next few days hopefully!) from a single socket. I'm guessing that you guys've got some sorta daisy-chaining system for the boards, but it's the different voltages that I'm uncertain about. Any suggestions? Cheers!
