1.
Thanks mate - where did you get your ramp from? I'm interested in getting one for my ss2 and possibly my pnut sig...
My friend who's the head luthier of Manson's guitar shop down here made it for me. If you drop me a message I can provide you with some further details if you like? Obviously if you were to have one made he could just use my bass again to sculpt it correctly to save you sending yours down!
2. I have owned a lot of Warwicks in my time (currently have a custom shop Infinity) and can quite safely say these are the best of the bunch and worth every penny. It's a shame I don't have the funds at the moment. Have a bump on me
3. Here it is.. the ramp is made of ebony and cost me about 30 quid.. it's longer at the bottom to stop my thumb sliding off of it when thumping.
4.
Has anyone put a ramp between the end of the fretboard and the neck pickup? Im learning to do the when double thumbing thing and whilst my slap techniques are decent, with double thumbing I find striking the too G string tough as the thumb has nothing to land on. Hoping a ramp might help. Bass is a streamer stage 2 5 string, anyone who has played one knows the curved body and neck join means I can't get a good upstroke on the g string.
Exactly what I have done with my Streamer Stage 2. I find there is far too much space behind the strings (for double thumping) than what I am used to so I had a ramp made to emulate the string-height of my Infinity and to negate the body curve. I have some pictures somewhere I'll dig out. I find it helps massively.
5. Oh my god
6. Hi, there. Bit late to the party but I am a full stack web developer and have my own Linux server instance I used to host all of my applications etc that I manage myself. If I can be of any help drop me a message. Thanks
7. Just sold Ordep my Future Impact pedal. Transaction was completed from payment to delivery in 36 hours with no hitches and good communication. Very easy to deal with and would deal with him again with no hesitation.
8. Sold! An hour after listing. Popular things these!
9. So, after careful thought I have decided to part ways with my Future Impact, purely because I rarely use it. The pedal itself is in near mint condition and has probably been turned on about 20 times in total and it just feels like it's not getting the use it deserves. There are no marks on in or any wear and tear anywhere. I bought this from new last year. It really is an amazing pedal but there is no point me having it at this moment in time so someone should be able to get more use out of it right now than me. I am based in Exeter and am willing to post at buyers at expense. I am looking for £300 for the pedal or trade plus cash for a 3leaf Proton or Spatial Delivery Envelope Filter. PM me for details!
10. Hello! I currently have a Warwick Infinity 5 string custom shop that comes loaded with this pickup configuration

Active MEC J/TJ pickups
Here is the actual bass itself: After having a play around recently I have found that the pickup height makes a HUGE difference on this bass, specifically the single neck jazz pickup and a lot more than my other Warwicks. They are currently the stock MEC pickups that come straight from Warwick. The sound is so much fatter and round and just sounds infinitely better when closer to the strings. The problem I am having is that when I have my pickup very high the position of the pickup itself and where I naturally like to play interfere with each other. I can't get my fingers behind the strings properly and it interferes with my slap and palm mute techniques. Before having to adjust my technique I was just wondering if there were any other options available to me here.. more powerful pickups that could allow for the further string height or similar? I'm not really knowledgeable in this area so please pardon my ignorance. Thanks!

12. Hi, This is something I have struggled to find a lot of information about online because either I'm a werido and found this aspect of playing basses important (and no-one else does) or I haven't found the accurate lexicon to search for further information on this subject. I have two Warwick custom shop basses at the moment, an Infinity Buckeye Burl 5 string and a Streamer Stage 1 5 string. They are both setup with very flat necks and low action and light-gauge strings. The string height on the Infinity from the string to the body, between the neck pickup and the end of the neck is very low, maybe just over 1cm behind the strings. I find this great as I do lots of percussive work and when double thumping and what not my thumb doesn't tend to get stuck under the strings as there isn't enough distance behind them for my thumb to actually get stuck. When I bought the Streamer the height under the strings was a lot higher so I had a custom ramp made to bring it up to the same height as the Infinity as I found just playing the bass without it my fingers got stuck behind the strings a lot. I find this distance varies greatly from bass to bass and was just interested to see if anyone else finds this particular aspect of a bass important when playing them. I suppose I could just 'man-up' and get used to the varying string heights between basses but I wanted to make it as seamless as possible . I will add this isn't referring to the string height over the frets (which is obviously adjusted by saddle height and relief) but the distance from the strings to the body. Jsut to clarify. I am going to be looking for a jazz or precision style bass to add to the arsenal soon but ever Fender I have tried seems to have a fair old distance / height behind the strings. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of jazzes or p-basses that had smaller distance before I have to go and desecrate yet another bass with a ramp... I hope this makes sense!
13. I know the owner of the bass and I'm pretty sure he bought it in this condition. He's a nice chap though and completely legit. I think I suggested to him to get it refinished and I think he's considering it now.
14. Why oh why has this popped up now after I have just bought a house....

Bought a ToneHammer 500 off of Barrie and was probably the best transaction I have had on here to date and why I recommend this place to others. He was kind enough to let me pay in two staggered amounts and even sent the item before I had paid the second amount which I was very appreciative of! Can't recommend him enough and can say to deal in complete confidence!
16. I so wish I had the money to buy this! GLWTS
17. I sold one of these a year or so ago to pay for my Infinity Custom shop and I've been wanting one back to fill my 4 string GAS but I have just bought a house... WHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. GLWTS
18.
Sounds to me like Warwick are making a bit of an arse of it!
Pretty much. I was speaking to the owners of Manson's (ex Warwick stockists) here in Exeter and they were telling me about Hans. Would rather not share what they had to say about him. And their customer service is absolutely terrible, as is their joke of a pricing system. If anyone cares here is a thread from last year when I requested a repair to one of my Warwick custom shops. Check out the quote I was given if you fancy a laugh. It's a shame really as I love my Warwicks and won't play anything else but as a company they are assholes. 19. Isn't it just a Cort?
20. Oh my! If I wasn't about to be buying a house... Gutted
21.
Were you playing this yesterday at Reading with Rag'n'Bone Man?
That's him,yeah.
22. So, for the last few years I have been stringing my two Warwick Custom shop 5 strings up with very light gauge strings. This is my preference so please don't try and change my mind as many have before unsuccessfully. I love the feel of lighter gauge sets and find it so much easier as there is a lot of percussive playing in what I play. My Infinity was strung 30-110 (elites) and my Streamer Stage 1 was 35-120 (Rotosound swing bass set) Now, I find these are two of the only options I have in regards to 5 string 'sets' as most other companies I see start their 'light' 5 sets at .45 upwards (which to me isn't light at all). I find both the elites and the Rotos don't last very long and was looking for some coated strings that fit this sort of gauge but so far I have had no luck. I am just fed up with having to change my strings every few gigs and have been recommended coated sets by others. Does anyone have any recommendations for good coated string sets that may fit my gauge requirements as I am struggling to find any? I was also told by a friend that I could get away with .40 as he says the coated 'feel different' but i'm sure he is just trying to get me to up my gauge. Thanks!
23.
the pin strip around the edge would be my worry.. I'd leave it, I'm no expert on guitars but if it was a car or motorcycle you'd be killing its value as its only an improvement for yourself
Again. It's NEVER getting sold so can we please take the value aspect out of the conversation? Thanks everyone for the advice. I am still going to go ahead with it. Martin Simms is going to be carrying out the work of stripping it then I will decide what to do after that. I think after what Manton has said about Buckeye being soft that satin is going to be the way forward.
