    Your luthier could just make a regular ramp to fit inbetween the pickups, give you more freedom on pickup height, and avoid magnets on pickups?

    Absolutely. Wasn't for a minute suggesting you should do more of anything or chase any populism - it's great the way it is. My point was really that the FFYL piece will have definately brought your 'learn to read music' maxim to some new folk.

    Brilliant. Fascinating liner notes on that one as well. Sweeping generalisation on FFYL audience but you’d assume your more rock oriented transcriptions might motivate a few more souls to persevere with notation..

    8.5lbs actually really light for a 5. One of the lucky ones (my P7 is 10lbs ) They’re fabulous basses, and you’ve got the best colour V7 IMO, looks great without pickguard too

    Not much experience with Audacity so apologies if a dumb question - but don't you just set the start point the vocal stem fractionally later to offset the latency?

    That Oakenfold mix of Lemon, and Jnr Boys Own take on Salome, both brilliant. Not a fan of U2 but they had some great remixes in the 90s.

    It’s great how many photos we have of kids today. More photos in their first year than the average 50yr old has of their entire life. Made my first photo book recently (via BobBooks) - great way to preserve these memories, stacks of brownie points too.

    If you liked that video you’d like his book - The Music Lesson. Great read, partly bass related but majors on music itself, and inner peace , sort of. Can’t really do it justice here but it’s worth checking. edit ; saying that as someone who has zero interest in listening to VW’s music

    For him is less about competing on rate, and more the fact the big corp and sideman work has just vanished entirely. Totally get what you're saying about reframing bandmates expectations, can see that will be an issue for many.
