If you're only wandering down the B end occasionally get one of these, they're great and a lot lighter/cheaper than a new bass. I also have a BEAD 4-string cos I didn't play/practice on a 5-string enough and therefore couldn't get used to them.

Maybe your thumb is GASing for the wider range of sound and thumb-friendly twin pickup bass?

+1 for Nick Seymour; love his playing and the bass always gets an awesome sound/mix on Crowded House albums and +1 again for Tom Fowler, I've only heard him on Steve Hackett's 2nd album (Please Don't Touch) but the playing's great.

Can't help you with this one but I'm just wondering if the Markbass spell has been broken and they're now yesterday's gear? Hope so, why would you actually want something in yellow italics sat on top of your stack? Verily they offend the eye!

I can't get on with 5-strings either. I converted a 4-string to BEAD; filed the nut out, set it up again - lovely. And a possibly controversial opinion: if you miss your G-string then you shouldn't be spending so much time on the dusty side lol! I believe Spector offer a BEAD bass with a 35" scale. Have you considered an octave pedal? My MXR's awesome!

Spector NS2000/4 retro fitted with EMG 35DC's and an EMG BTS (pickup blend/master volume) system. With the jack plugged in it only has to be touched for the mighty CLUNKERRANG to happen. I've tried various leads which are sound in my other basses. Can anyone help?

Kinda liking this bass. How does plexi work out as a guitar material? I know a lot of drummers hated the plexi drum kits (except for Bonzo - gratuitous opportunity to show his lovely Amber Vistalite)

Yes they're mixing a lot of detuned and not. I think the whole of 'Appetite for Destruction' was done that way wasn't it?

I'm talking about a semitone shift to make it a bloody sight easier to play? Everybody seems to play Superstition in E (from Eb).
