  1. NBD; Euro 4LX TW. Beautiful!
  2. Santa's been! Euro 4LX TW. I thang yow!
  3. Bought a new telly at the weekend and promptly threw it off my 5th floor balcony - I much prefer that look
  4. Anything Gabriel's done from Up onwards is filler and I'm guessing that's a big chunk of his recent shows.
  5. I've just watched the repeat of this from last weekend. Felt embarrassed for Steve as he explained why he left while the rest of them looked on stoney-faced. I know I've banged on about it previously but I'd love to have seen their faces if Ray Wilson had been mentioned. A good documentary has warts-and-all.
  6. Those NS2000's are rightly well rated. Dunno about stick-on crowns though and yes he could have gone the whole hog and got a gold bridge.
  7. Here's a curio, My first Spector was an NS2000/4 (bought in '99). I've since owned and sold another. I've never seen that model with anything other than dot markers 'til I came across this pic on talkbass (the one on the left). I suspect they've been retro-fitted (like the naff gold tuners). Any ideas?
  8. Bet Paul Morley likes them.
  9. Coldplay on Mogadon in slippers.
  10. Is this the Elbow who defy all logic and are popular? Utter drivel - every last note.
  11. Loved the 80's and he was part of it. Good enough to get in a Bowie vid too. RIP.
  12. +1 for No Lust In Jazz's comment; 2 or three generations of great pop songs and you can hear Brown Sugar in a pub near you tonight. It is possible to have a good set without resorting to the old standards. Laziness.
  13. There are still bands out there who think Mustang Sally is cool and fun! And leave Jimmy Webb alone - McArthur Park ain't for pub gigs but that doesn't make it a bad piece of music. And if lyrics were supposed to make sense etc...
  14. She always had some fantastic musicians working with her. RIP John Guerin.
  15. Is that MK's brother? He's certainly an awesome guitar player.
  16. Yeah Michael Brecker scraped by didn't he!
  17. By coincidence I have Shadows and Light on in the car right now and I was thinking exactly the same; genius and THAT* live band! She's one of those geniuses who makes everything look easy. Prince says 'Hissing...' is one of the few albums he can listen to all the way through. And +1 to all of Jaco's best work being done with Joni. I wouldn't know where to start or stop with her brilliant lyrics but I love 'a helicopter lands on the PAN-AM roof like a dragonfly on a tomb'. The live version of Hejira with that achingly beautiful play out - pity the band footage was replaced by the ice skaters. *Joni wanted Wayne Shorter but he and Jaco's Weather Report contracts prevented any two members being involved in another project.
  18. They opened a '90 Hammersmith show with Bullet in the Barrel. Confident.
  19. Being the geek wot I am I've ripped a cd with all the extended mixes and b-sides including the superb I'll Meet You In The Spring.
