1. Yes I watched a youtube vid of that performance - good innit. Someone told me Franks's retired from 'rock' music?
2. They were a great band with the original line-up. They did it for an encore on the '88 tour. Great b-side band too (remember those)?
3. Can anyone recommend or not?
4. Pretty much between the 'Steven Cauthen' bit to the finale - I've got the finale. Thanks. And yes, it's great.
5. Has anyone got a guide to this (bass); transcription, tab, video? I've slowed it down, sped it up, watched people play it and I still can't nail it.
6. Cheers bud. Yes I've been trawling every possible video. That one looks great doesn't it.
7. And why not, we pay enough for them! Remind me which model that is? I've also always preferred the thumb-parking soapbars.
8. Cheers Billy, I bet the quilted stain looks awesome. I've always liked black hardware on them too - thought gold looked fussy. And I've got A&E inducing GAS too! And cheers Mudpup, I'm happy to mail order but I'd want to see actual pics first.
9. Yes it's a bit strange isn't it. I've contacted Barnes & and Mullins (UK dist) on advice from the Spector website.
10. http://blog.dice.fm/post/107997788494/the-consumer-rights-bill-and-what-you-need-to This is a very interesting article - well done for posting. This kind of stuff is in the pipeline when your government start selling off utility and transport companies - effectively abdicating responsibility to 'market forces' aka Dick Turpin and co. The best advice I've seen on this thread is to vote with your feet, or; Buy the dvd of the show and have it delivered to a mate - preferably in London or somewhere more than 100 miles away. Make the 3 hour journey. Ring his doorbell - he'll answer but ask you to wait an hour. Then when you're let in queue outside his kitchen (he's asked a few neighbours around just to make a queue) for 15 minutes to pay his missus around £14 for a warm beer in a plastic tumbler and the greasiest burger you ever saw. Go for a pre-gig tinkle (queue of course) in a toilet that your mate, his missus and two children have prepared for you by weeing on the floor for a week. Find a good spot in his lounge (standing) 20 mins before gig time. Your mate will load the dvd at 7.30 - but the tv ain't goin' on 'til 8! Your good spot is now a bad spot - Mr Doeverythingatthelastminute, who's 5" taller than you has just barged in front of you. And now you need the toilet again. You guys know the rest... I've attached an old ticket stub to remind everyone that there was value for money once.
11. I think the finish is the same but the woods are different. But there's no difference in the description even on the Spector site.
12. Guys - help! I'm shaping up to satisfy some serious Spector GAS with an LX4 TW but I'm a bit confused re the finish. Both are described as Matt Black Stain but are clearly different. I prefer the one in the body only pic. The Spector site isn't very helpful (a finish gallery would be useful). Any advice?
13. Two things: 1. As previously stated that keyboard sounds overpriced and 2. There's a reason he doesn't want the cash showing up in his bank account. And re the comment about him being overdrawn - don't we pay our debts any more?
14. Saw him a couple of years ago. Is it just me or is two hours of guitar noodling a bit tedious?
15. It's the one with Larks 2. More importantly it's the one with Tony Levin - one hand fretting his Stingray and the other playing a keyboard bass line. And the one with him playing two independent parts on his stick. Awesome!
16. I got the Bruford book a couple of years ago - now that is a yawnfest! Back on topic, those tickets are expensive. Get yourself the Neal and Jack and Me dvd - a superb couple of '83 shows with the Fripp/Belew/Bruford/Levin line-up.
17. Does anyone remember what year Sound Control went bust? Just beforehand I tried out an American built NS-2 which was on sale for £1200. I regret that now.
18. So assuming that say Tony Levin's paid a retainer by Peter Gabriel how much do you think or know that's worth to him?
19. I've just revisited Autobahn. Influential, really?
20. The Morley is one of horse proportions. Seriously though, not one bit of criticism of Kraftwerk in the whole show.
21. It would be even odder if that bass player spouted Geddy's voice! Lovely to hear Subdivisions again.
22. discreet, would you be talking about the dick who gave Peter Gabriel's 3rd album a bad review cos he was having a bad day?
