  1. Two iconic basses. I've owned Korean Spectors and they're superb. Well done.
  2. IIRC there was a time when auntie had acts do live vocals to backing tracks.
  3. As an early Big Country fan; who the flip is Scott Whitley? And why all the references to their third album The Seer on which Tony Butler played bass?
  4. The body's a Precision Lyte - pretty sure Squier never built those. The body looks stripped too. It would have major neck dive too cos they were extremely lightweight basses.
  5. How are you going to run the Minitaur?
  6. Warvick would be a great name for a soldier's vapour rub
  7. Cheers for this. I was unaware of the 2007 reissue. There's a slightly confusing reference on Wiki saying that the master tapes were lost as of 2004 but the '07 reissue was a remastered stereo mix?
  8. I bought one of the early - maybe poorly eq'd cd copies. Prior to that on cassette so I've no vinyl benchmark for the sound quality. I'm naturally suspicious of boxed sets and nothing I see here will tempt me.
  9. All drummers need a set of those.
  10. https://www.cherryred.co.uk/esoteric-recordings-proud-announce-release-official-limited-edition-deluxe-boxed-set-yes-founder-chris-squires-legendary-1975-solo-album-fish-water/ Lots of surround sound bells and whistles and a new stereo mix from master tapes* *which will hopefully improve on the slightly woolly original.
  11. Dave Greenfield certainly looks the part.
  12. Haven't seen that before. Absolutely priceless.
  13. And this. My vote also goes to Fragile.
  14. This. And the further you get from the late 60s/early 70s the less seminal it's gonna be.
  15. As a long time admirer of the Taurus I and user of the Roland PK-5/various sound modules I was as excited as anyone else at the announcement of the Taurus III ten years ago. So what I thought would be a Taurus replicant made from modern lightweight materials turns out to be something with a million functions I don't want or need and is heavy enough to be used as stabilising ballast for a super cruise ship with a price tag to match. I know it's late in the day but I'm still effing fuming about my dream not coming true!
  16. Cheers cetera, I was hoping you'd come along. I'm now the wiser with this model.
  17. Pic no.8 defo shows a cutaway on the top of the body and I'd say that's a flat face on the front.
  18. I don't think that's an NS - it doesn't have the curved body. Not sure that's spalted maple either - just very grainy.
  19. Nobody's pointed out the obvious yet. It's all in the fingers.
  20. Bit of thread revival here but have JayDee been mentioned yet? Hideous!
  21. Well done Phil, you finally mentioned the elephant in the room. For me it's all been done before and very well, or at least the perception is that which is possibly why some tribute bands can charge £45 per ticket and sell out medium sized venues.
