1.
Updated for 2017 for ya. Haven't seen a single edition of this series, thrown by the fact it's not on a Friday night any more. Would appear I've succeeded in missing precisely sod-all.
Cheers bud, you saved the day there. And they were jeans converted to west coast flares with a paisley V to make them bell bottoms.
 2.
Why not put on some modern rock or Prog bands for a change.
Cos they don't pass the BBC's 'trendy' test.
 3. My beautiful Thumb NT. An '08 model I think bought on here. Neck dive eliminated with a quality neoprene strap.
 4.
From last weekends gig at The Grove in Battersea. Wasn't a bad gig really considering it was definitely a venue better suited to classic rock covers than originals... seemed to go down OK though Another from the same gig... must have been during a bit I had to concentrate on
Nice pics. What's the photo effect in the first one?
 5.

Loved the second one. Seven strings; dancing around the neck with your eyes closed - showing off IMO! Brilliant.
 6. I've kept this on the hdr since BBC4 showed it. Great stuff.
 7.
Careful Al, he is based in Portsmouth, he could be military. Operation human shield Bas, i'll protect you
8.
if you guys fight, will it be fisticuffs or girly slaps.....
Mortars with suppressing fire like they say in the films.
 9.
i) agreed ii) certainly can be, particularly when done incessantly at bass product launches and events! iii) would you describe yourself as a generally cheery person who finds change and innovation a little annoying and, whilst we're on the subject, might perhaps prefer to abolish all bass effects pedals - other than tremolo as the VOX AC 30 had one of those, and were actually surprised and slightly perturbed by the advent of the electric bass, brought in by Leo Fender, given that upright basses were already doing the job just fine?
A smiley does not excuse a miserable post. Lighten up.
 10. Is there a chapter on how to make your entire collection sound like a Rick?
 11.
5 and 6 string basses will die out next. Waste of wood and strings.
Nice one. Your avatar's ace too.
 12.
Keep going, guys. Soon you'll have every guitarist listed.
13. If it dies out I'll miss it about as much as the world misses smallpox.
 14. Here's one for ya... Ian Anderson - his acoustic playing is outstanding.
 15. Picked up in GB Music in Bognor Regis today. I've never spent £250 more willingly.
 16. Have to agree with the comments re BEAD. I've used one for years. We talk about the dusty end on here; IFAIC the G is the dusty string. I also think that modern bass shapes look better with 5 strings - the older 'classic' shapes look hideous.
 17. You're the 'Sting' in a Police tribute band. Take the next logical step - form a Sting solo band
 18. I'll review it now if you like. It's small, green and black and cheap. You plug a bass in one end and a speaker in the other. It can go quiet or loud, bassy (class D bass) or trebley. No-one on here will ever use it outside of the world's smallest pub cos we all need ten million (real) watts to give us the heft and headroom we require. It WILL allow you to play a Gibson EBO and sound like Chris Squire cos it's all in the fingers. Sorted
 19.
Wasn't meant as a criticism of The Clash in any way. I just remember them being classed as part of the Punk era in the media. Many fans were happy that they were classed as a punk band rather than a Rock band. Had they appeared a few years earlier or even later they may well have been classed more as a rock band. As i said i enjoyed the singles whenever i heard them and would agree London Calling was a classic song worthy of many bands. Dave .
Interesting point. In another universe they'd be a rock band.
 20.
This kid being a case in point:
His smile at the end!!
