1. Those tuners
 2. My first bass was a P Lyte deluxe (three band eq) and it was awesome and very light.
 3. A rundown of the charts - at no.30 Ed Sheeran, at no.29 Ed Sheeran...
 4.
To me Jaco's best stuff was his work with Joni Mitchell. This being a case in point.
+ 1 million! His work with Joni was sublime and this is a great example.
 5. Nice highland theme going on there. I live just up the road if anyone wants it.
 6. Love him or not thirty years on we're still talking about him. RIP Jaco.
 7. Got to be up there. Kay bass.
 8.
That's what I thought. I'm not a huge Jaco fan, but I've been around long enough to understand and appreciate what he brought to the table. Jaco is what I call a "Once in lifetime" artist. Nobody was there in that spot before him and nobody has riveled him since. Blue
+1.
 9.
Did they have a nice sideboard?
Class!
 10.
Whatever our individual and very subjective views are about all the band's mentioned in this thread, we're the ones doing all the talking about them - spending our time and/or our money listening to their music to decide whether or not we like what they do and whether they're overrated or underrated or not. Meanwhile, the band's in question have absolutely no idea who we are, what our views are, whether we're good bass players/musicians or not, and what our opinions of them are. And they most likely never will. Its pretty obvious who's in the better place, don't you think?
Right you lot, stop having opinions NOW!
 11. As mentioned in many of the posts the media are to blame for over-inflating a bands success. In the sixties they had the Beatles; The Fab Four, Britain's very own, media friendly in all their incarnations from mop tops to drug taking and they had longevity. They've been hyping every band since those cheeky Liverpool lads broke up.
 12. From some of the criteria in previous posts I'd include the Foo Fighters. I think headline therefore I am headline.
 13. For years The Clash have been welded onto this award for me but lately I've realised the error of my ways and have a new candidate: THE SMITHS!
 14.
to make my class D amp more retro, I've added 20kgs of lead weights.
15.
I watched a few videos on You Tube with guys gurning their way through various Rush tracks and feel that stuff like the one below might be the holy grail of tone. That said, the none of the basses I've pushed through the unit give anywhere like the tone this guy has. I don't own a Jazz Bass either...anyone in my vicinity who does, it welcome to give it a whirl!
Essential Rush t-shirt so you know it's Rush.
 16.
Turn down the bridge pickup, roll off the highs and stop worrying about it. It's not exactly the same, but the only people who are likely to notice are going to be bass players. If you're after some '60s thump, stick a bit of washing-up sponge under there. The other day I saw Curtis Harding's bass player do just that!
The only people who are going to notice are BC pedants. Anyway isn't it all in the fingers?
 17.
Yea, Mark was a good player no doubt, but i dont know anyone that could play Relax that tight. This is the mutz... https://www.youtube....h?v=AbCEF4sYSiY
Just watched that - apols in absentia to Mark - he is a good player.
 18.

19.
Just worked out why... missed the picture first time round. Here's one of the back of the headstock:
Now I see. Thanks.
 20. I suspected it might be samples on a sequencer.
 21. The Pleasuredome album credits Mark O'toole from the band and Trevor Horn. There's some nice basslines on it and I know Trevor's no slouch with four strings.
