1. Listened to The Song Remains The Same album for the first time in ages yesterday and I was struck by how 'funky' the bass lines are.
 2. Weller's bass player looked like the guy who was in a later version of Oasis. Glad Paul was around to lift the otherwise dire show. As for the argument that any music shows are better than none; music shows are like parents - better none at all than bad ones.
 3. Is it the angle or do none of the strings line up with the pup?
 4. I can't find the old threat so what the hell. Steve Hackett at Portsmouth Guildhall last Monday. Kick drum as described. Anything around G and below on Nick Beggs's gorgeous Spector sounded awesome - anything above was AWOL. What was hilarious was the usually reliable tummy-tickling bass pedals were exactly the same.
 5. 10cc. A band I love to this day but this Graham Gouldman thing is just a pointless exercise. It's still only 2.5cc
 6. Nick Beggs photo opportunity (Steve Hackett Tour).
 7.
Neo Shakespearean I take it?
Yeah well he did make up loads of new words
 8. Cold is that bit between a building and your car isn't it? F**k gigging in it.
 9.
She's 72! A friend of mine is seeing Blondie at the Roundhouse tonight. He's put a few short live clips on Facebook & to be fair they're sounding pretty damn good.
71 actually - which still gets you a bus pass. The band were tight and sounding great.
 10. I didn't have a problem with DH's voice, she just looks a bit has-been sad these days.
 11.
Thought about sticking this in the Chris Squire thread, but as he isn't in the clip, felt it would have been a little disrespectful. Geddy Lee does a sterling job, as of course, do the rest of the band - Great stuff! Apologies if this has already been posted!
That vid's on here somewhere but who cares. I bet Geddy's known that song since he was a kid.
 12. Thanks, they're both lovely instruments.
 13. Anyone tried a Spector with Barts?
 14.
Even if you don't like them as a company, there's a lot to be said for Apple's policy of only announcing new products when they are going to be available within the next few days.
They only do that to get the i-sheep frothing at the mouth.
 15.
It Bites. Four years, three fabulous studio albums, and then gone. (nb. Not counting the later reform version, good though it was.)
I knew you'd be on the case with It Bites Rich. Have to disagree about the current band - sh1te!
 16.
How about some of those Camden bands from the late 80s / early 90s? Silverfish, Milk, Headcleaner, Faith Healers, The Love Blobs, The Telescopes, i bet nobody remembers them..
Silverfish are alive and well and in my bathroom
 17.
Jaco only needed 4 strings......
The blue touch paper!
 18.
...I like to dabble with chords...
19.
Here you are (very difficult to photograph)
That is f***ing awesome. Tell me all about it please.
 20.
I love the not difficult statements. Since when has difficulty had much to do with creativity and musicianship? Most semi decent guitarists now would say what Hendrix played was "Not difficult". Its not the point, Hendrix played it over 40 years ago when it was a revelation. The same with Chris. Its the note choice, placement and timing, and that tone that make it very special.
+1.
 21. I owned an SSD-94 (NS-94) and it was an excellent bass.
