1.
I couldn't get the Rowin Octopus to get a good sound for me. Just bought a Nano POG, which I think is brilliant!
I had a Rowin Octopus long enough to realise it was a piece of crap.
 2. 3. Also worth a look are the late '90's NS2000's which are great value 2nd hand. Slightly different body shape if you can live with that.
 4. The Gates of Delirium came around in the car on the way to work - and I played it again on the way home. It struck me as one of those times when a musicians planets all line up - like it was made for him.
 5. An hour of chat with this gentleman bass player. If anyone's interested it'll probably get repeated. Massive faux pas using that Hotel California vid on the playout though.
 6. Beth Ditto: ditto as in we've seen it all before And come on Joolz, you're going soft - Robert Cray sets up a perfectly good boogie-woogie opportunity and you're AWOL?!
 7.
75 mins is way too long. Remember that the audience are in general there to see the headliners, and without being disrespectful, would probably get bored of any band they didn`t know that went on for 75mins. A support act is there to warm up the audience for the headliners, 75mins of an unknown band, no matter how good would probably irk.
This. Ever heard of Death by Support Band? Let's get real here guys; how many support bands have you actually liked? 30 mins tops.
 8. If this unnamed band is Guns & Roses I'd say around three hours
 9.
*picks up jumbo popcorn & sits back in beanbag*
😂
 10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI5QCem2fx4 Francis Dunnery paid tribute on his radio show - always thought there was a massive influence.
 11. Hi Bubinga - more Steve Hackett trivia on one of your posts! His '78 album Please Don't Touch featured Phil Ehart and Steve Walsh. Check out Racing in A with Steve's excellent vocals.
 12.
£2100
Yeah there was some serious bidding at the end. GAS extinguished (maybe temporarily).
 13.
I really like the TV format of having bands doing a short set instead of one song in a circle, like Later... Obviously OGWT and The Tube had this format, but also Channel 4's short lived The White Room from the mid 90s (anyone remember that?) which was a great show. It allows a band to get into the groove a lot more than doing one song and stopping again, which results in a much better performance I think.
Another vote for The White Room here - an excellent show.
 14.
They would possibly not take too kindly to somebody trying to join in with them either, unless the person was invited. It's not an audience participation type of thing.
All the more reason to join in!
 15. I'm telling myself it would be an investment already!
 16. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311843275868?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I don't doubt they'll go for around £2k but you never know.
 17.
He was also on the Friday Night Rock Show this week, a good 20 minute very honest interview. There were also clips of the 1974 California Jam with Deep Purple introducing him and David Coverdale as the new members of the at the time the largest band in the world. He has got together again with Joe Bonnamassa and BCC are releasing a new album in September.
Sorry, I meant he was on the Friday Rock Show.
 18.
Hmm, it's elegant if you ignore the pointless extra holes drilled in the top and plugged with grommets, the preamp that does nothing and the big hunk of end-grain scrap wood secured with honking great screws through the back!
Yep, that's the kind of elegant I meant!

 20. First came across him on the UK album. Great guitarist.
 21.
Didn't realise a new series had started, no great loss as I have totally lost interest in it. From the look of last nights line up and comments on here, it was not for me anyway. I now watch the Friday Night Rock Show on Freeview channel 82, great little show with a couple of live bands every week.
Glenn Hughes was on last night.
 22. I think most of the Whistle Test has been erased which is why you see a lot of the same old stuff coming around.
